I could care less about Floyd Mayweathers persona, but his arrogance is definitely what drives his villain image. Fact is as much as you or I or anyone hopes that if he loses, that he will do so with grace & dignity, the ugly truth is that he probably will not, and most people know this. This is why he is disliked. Im a fan of boxing first, and Id rather see a good fight then see a certain fighter win or lose. I dont even dislike Mayweather at all, and I find him entertaining but I also know why people hate him.

I beg to differ on how he would handle a loss, but only based on the fact that I believe we have to differentiate between Mayweather the public figure and Mayweather the everyday man. Some of his videos seem to suggest a very emotional man, and by "emotional" I mean sensitive, so I doubt he'd do anything that would reflect the villain.

In the end, Floyd has alot to be proud of because he creates a tremendous amount of interest around the sport. I'd love to see more of his kind of hype from others fighters. I think it's about time that they looked very carefully at how Floyd has developed his career. He doesn't have his level of fame and success for no reason.

I too am a fan of boxing first, but Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have become an obsession of mine. Also, I feel that Floyd Mayweather needs to be defended, even though at times he seems to be his own worst enemy. I don't think anyone that's as great as he is in the ring deserves to be dismissed the way he is on these boards.

right now a lot of the hate is FRUSTRATION FROM SOME who want to see him lose so bad...nobody likes a guy who is great at what he does and he also tells you that he is great, we are trained to like the guy who is great but very quiet and humble

what Mayweather is dealing with is nothing close to what Ali had to deal with though

at the same time Mayweather brung all this on himself when he turned into the Villain Of Boxing "MONEY Mayweather" during the build up of the Oscar fight, he probably didn't expect the "HATE" to go this far but hey...at the end of the day he is making a TON OF MONEY off of all this "HATE" so I don't think he is all that bothered by it
