as for leonard ellerbe; im not sure how many times i have to explain this - no he doesnt say outright in that interview they will demand more than 50.

But he was providing a justification for why he thinks mayweather deserves more than 50/50 - which is what he will need to attain his 100 million.


as everyone knows, the only way hes getting 100 million is if pac takes a 5% split.

Testing is taken care of for now but now you think it's money when there had been no indication of this being a problem. So didn't Top Rank have Nov of last year as a date already I think they did; but didn't they put a week clock saying you have to sign a fight by this time or else. I guess you can't comprehend that; he said I'm fighting May 5 and I hope to make the biggest fight not sign fo the fight in two weeks.

The level of Mayweather hate on here is impressive.

Mayweather comes out and says he wants to fight next year on May 5th (a very reasonable date and venue -- arguably the best), says that his main focus in on Pacquiao, and all the Pacquiao fans can muster up is a new reason why they don't think the fight will happen.

Now its "Mayweathers going to ask for too much money in the negotiations". Some of you people type that sentence out as if you have no idea what the word "Negotiation" means. Of course Ellerbe is going to position his fighter in the best possible light that makes sure he maximizes every financial opportunity possible. That's what you do before and during negotiations, especially considering that everything that Ellerbe said is 100% accurate.

The NEGOTIATIONS haven't started for the fight yet, but if Team Mayweather started off asking for more than a 50% split, they're well within their right to, just as Team Arum is within their right to do the same. From that point on, they would NEGOTIATE a deal that makes sense for both parties.

At least that's how it should work in most business interactions. Who knows...maybe Arum will walk away from the table like he did in 2009 if Mayweather's team even suggests they should get a bigger share.

i've been on Manny's side the entire duration of the Floyd/drugtest/superfight debacle but this Koncz guy is the worst. i cant stand anything he says and i wish he'd just go away
