Mayweather takes time off between fights - "OHHH.. HE SCURRRRRED!"
Mayweather locks down a date and venue, a month and a half after his most recent fight - "OHHHH! He just wanna stay relevant and steal the PACMAN's spotlight!!!"
It doesn't matter what he does, the same people are gonna have a hundred excuses.
Here's the thing...
Arum doesn't want Manny to fight Floyd.
Arum has NEVER wanted Manny to fight Floyd.
Arum knows Manny can't beat Floyd.

Top Rank Inc. Bob Arum
"It's a difficult fight to make, first of all, they've already said that it's May 5. They already said that it's at the MGM. How dare them? I'm really outraged that they made the announcement now right before Manny's fight, and we'll remember that," said Arum.
"And who are they to say what date that the fight would be held? What kind of of negotiation is that? So, if the MGM gave them May 5, then, Manny may fight somebody else in April in Texas or in the Thomas and Mack. This is not the way to make a deal."

But using a clock countdown was the best way to negotiate. Right Bob?

“They are playing games,” Arum told SI.com after hearing that Mayweather will return to the ring in May and that the MGM Grand Garden Arena has been contacted. “You don’t negotiate this way. This is Floyd trying to move Manny out of the spotlight. This is no way to negotiate a fight. The MGM on May 5th? Who the hell is Floyd to say that? I know they are not serious. We put Floyd in a corner when we made it crystal clear that the issue of drug testing is over. So he comes out and makes this statement? Nobody even knows if he is going to be around in May.”
That last sentence, of course, was Arum’s not-so-subtle way of pointing out that Floyd’s legal problems could land him in prison on the date he is planning to fight. Cheap shots aside, it’s clear that Arum is determined not to let Mayweather dictate the terms of the fight everyone wants to see happen. According to Arum, Jerry Jones has a $30 million offer on the table to hold the fight at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“What happens if the MGM is not putting up any guarantees?” Arum said. “They have a call in to reserve it. Big deal. Has anyone sat down and negotiated with them? What if Jerry or the Wynn are putting up $30 million? Wouldn’t you consider that? The negotiation on the site is a major element in any of these promotions. They know that. It’s why I believe this is not sincere. This is bull—-. If the fight was to happen Mayweather would want to maximize revenue. He wouldn’t tie himself to one place. He would see what other offers were out there. Even if he says I don’t want to fight in Texas, OK, there are offers.
“I’m not reaching out to anybody. They know my number. I want it done right. I want to maximize the revenue for everybody. And what is the magic of May 5? May 5th is Cinco de Mayo. What does that have to do with anything? It makes no sense.”
Bob is out of his mind if he thinks the fight won't be in Vegas... If Jerry Jones can make his state tax free for one night, Bob might have a case but he's just giving more excuses as to why he REALLY does not want to put Pac in with Mayweather.
Bob is also playing ****** to May 5th. lol Acting like he is lost and saying it makes no sense.. lol It will represent 5 years from Mayweather vs De La Hoya breaking all the records and Mayweather vs Pac would break that record.
Bob needs to get his **** together he's exposing himself for the liar that he is again. *******ed fans should be praising this news.... once Pac, Ricky Hatton's JMM with absolutely ZERO problems, Pac should be fully focused on a Mayweather fight, after a much deserved vacation time of course.

There's no negotitations going on, just an announcement (coincidentally before a Pac fight) from Floyd's camp declaring a date and venue.
Dude is just trying to stay relevant during his time in between fights.
that's the only issue i have with floyd's camp's announcement. other than that, i'm all for him trying to make the fight. i hope floyd's camp will still have the same position after nov 12. we all know pac is in no position to negotiate right now. if only floyd postponed his announcement for another week then old ass arum is not barking right now.

Just because a venue is secured still doesn't mean that they can't go around looking at other places.
So I don't know why Arum is upset about. Or maybe he thinks that the other side won't look at other sites because of GBP and MGM being in bed together.
Bob's ego won't allow Floyd to dictate anything without permission. This is the problem, but Bob will have to suck it up and sit in a corner if his attitude is going to be this way. The fight needs to be made and everyone is sick and tired of his negative attitude towards making it. It's getting really old, like him.
