    Interesting stuff man...

    September 1996
    5. Marco Antonio Barrera

I didn't realise he was so respected back in 1996', I didn't think anyone really took to much notice of him untill the 1st Morales fight.

It must have been his TKO win over Kennedy McKinney that boosted him up the rankings?

I had him rated very high back then. He was really tearing everybody up...besides McKinney.
Then, he fought Junior Jones...& came tumbling down. Serious upset.

Canizales LOOKED brilliant. But, he fought a slew of ordinary guys. He did some sweet-looking stuff in there (see his moves against Seabrooks), but you have to wonder if he'd show the same against an elite guy.
We never got to see him against a real name fighter until after he passed his peak.

Anybody remember how Terry Norris kept trying to get the much smaller Ceasar Chavez to fight him? I was young and dumb and always thought that JCC was a ***** for not giving Norris his shot but as I aged a bit I realized that if I was to label either man a ***** it would have been the other way around.

              JuyJuy....

Please show the Ring lb4lb ratings that once had McClellan as high as #3, as you have claimed.
I, myself, don't remember him making it that high.

That's why I despised Norris, & loved it when Simon Brown knocked him silly.
I was tired of hearing a 154lber calling out a 140lber....to settle who was the lb4lb best.
