I was tired of hearing a 154lber calling out a 140lber....to settle who was the lb4lb best.

I too love the fight with Simon Brown...years ago I was going thru a catalog buying vhs fights and one of the first fights I picked was Brown/Norris 1...I absolutely loved it.

I also hated watching Norris torture the much smaller Melderick Taylor...Taylor had every bit the skill that Norris had but it was night and day difference in size.

Norris was a very exciting fighter too watch but he had a lot of hole sin his armor!

I love watching Jackson whack him out there too...hey Bozo could we get a gif of that one?

What did you think of Simon Brown ?
He's one of my all-time favorites. He was always in excellent fights. He had a perfect "T.V." style.
His first fight with Tyrone Trice was a seriously great fight.

Please show the Ring lb4lb ratings that once had McClellan as high as #3, as you have claimed.
I, myself, don't remember him making it that high.
I don't think McClellan was as high as #3 in The Ring, but he was in most journalists top five after the chilling 93-second demolition of Jackson.

He was listed #5 in Oct 94 list in The Ring..

I too also hated that. Meldrick definetly had balls moving up to 154 and fighting Terry Norris.

I think after that 1st loss with Chavez his confidence was shattered.

IMO he had all the tools to become great, but he had no mental strength. He couldn't overcome his own problems.

That was the first lb4lb list since the Benn-McClellan fight..

I remember Benn dropped out of the top five though after poor performances in his next couple of fights.

Toney righteously dropped out of the lb4lb rankings after back-to-back losses to Jones Jr and Griffin.

I loved Simon too...I remember yelling at the tv calling Norris a ***** in the remtach for fighting the way he was fighting...but that was how you had to fight Brown especially with Tery's chin.

You bring up Trice...Tyrone was a pretty fun TV fighter too...the Tryce/Brown fights I have not seen in years and years...Im going to have to buy them....and reresh my memory a bit.

Was the second fight as good as the first?

No, nowhere near as good. Simon stomped him for 9rds. before stopping him in the 10th.
Simon had gotten better & stronger, while Trice had a lot taken out of him from the first fight....& from an unbelievable war with Kevin Pompey.

Kevin Pompey! I love the names...perfect example of how being one of those trial horse vets is the toughest job in boxing...everybody wants your name on their resume and they dont care how old or ****ed up your are...they just want your name.

Pompey took a lot of thrashings!
