With Pac getting ready to retire in let's say 2 or 3 more fights at most, JCC a KO loss waiting to happen (especially if he fights Martinez), and no one to connect with the African American market, Bradley makes perfect sense as a new star. He already has the undefeated record, belts, has beaten recognizable names, which makes the work that Arum needs to put into developing him, and in turn money to invest developing him, minimal- we know Arum is all about profit maximization at the lowest cost to him.

It's a win, win situation for Arum; he has options against Khan, Pac (potentially), Mayweather, Ortiz, etc. The easiest way to start is to put on a major PPV card, if he looks good, then the buzz starts to build for a Pac-Bradley fight. He can do it for another PPV or so, even if he doesn't have any intention of matching the 2 guys, the public is none the wiser and the anticipation grows.

He floats the idea around a few times, then has Tim start showcasing his own PPV's.................BAM....another PPV star built basically off the hope that he is going to fight another PPV star out there............sounds kind of like what he has done with Pac.........has worked out pretty good for him I'd say.

If Top Rank is coaching Timothy Bradley on what to say, they're doing a terrible job.

I understand that maybe Timothy Bradley did not want the Amir Khan fight under the Gary Shaw Promotions banner as the last "big" fight he was suppose to have against Alexander was a complete dud. So I understand why he would have held out until he was with Top Rank.

However to say that he does not need Khan is ridiculous. Khan has way more fans in the US than Bradley does. Heck Khan might have more fans in Bradley's home state than Bradley. Not to mention Khan is one of the consensus top 3 140's in the world if not considered by many as 1. How would that not do anything for your career?

Bradley should not be saying ****** things like this as it makes him look foolish, and alienates even the few fans he has.

This post genuinely made me burst out into laughter I’m still laughing as I’m typing this reply.

I don’t think I have ever seen a poster quite a delusional as you, your opinion has become joke worthy.

Sorry but Bradley does not have what it takes to become a star anywhere near the level of either Floyd or Pac or even to become a legit ppv star lets ignore the fact that he will never be on there level as boxer the guy is not marketable to that extent he lacks the personality and charisma of Floyd, he lacks the exciting fan friendly style of Pac.

Arum knows what a fighter needs to become huge in this sport and believe me he knows Bradley is not that guy he is just a potential opponent for Pac Arum will feed a few below par opponents to Bradley before allowing him to cash out against Pac.

The african american market is a tough one though . Outside of Floyd how many african american ppv stars are out there ?

Also this is what I don't get . You say the marketing Arum would need to do for Bradley would be minimal because of his good resume and undefeated record but you'ld think that he'd have that recognition already if he was a potential star . If he didn't connect with the fans then I doubt he will now .

Boxing is a what have you done for me lately sport and for many who will buy the pac ppv this will be the first they hear about Bradley.. Arum will have to give him exposure on quite a few undercards ( pac , cotto etc.) on the small chance the fans connect with him but any opponents he fights at 140 lbs will be considered a step down to Khan.

This is why I don't think Arum is thinking long term with him . Bradley has never demostrated himself as an attraction even when headlining on HBO and as you say Arum likes to put in the minimum of $$ investment . Bradley will need more than that.

Why would Arum wste his time signing him to "feed" him to Pac if he is a no-draw? He wants a plan B for when Pac is gone......would Pac be as big of a star if he weren't with Arum? No,of course not, his personality is too polite and he is too reserved.....he sells millions of tickets though doesn't he? If people keep seeing Bradley on Pac's PPV's and he keeps on winning.....the public will soon be begging for that fight. Just like music on the radio...keep hearing the same songs and hearing how people are saying that the songs are the greatest....what happens? They become top singles and make platinum albums regardless of how good you think they are......the power of suggestion and marketing strategy....Arum knows what he is doing.

Do you know how much money Bob arum has made from these inhouse Pac fights? He has fed bigger stars And more marketable fighters to Pac than Tim Bradley, what makes you think he wouldn’t?

And he is not a draw as of right now that is pretty much fact Arum would have to inject some serious money into making Bradley a big draw and he is not going to do it to much risk. He can just build him up over the next 2 fights make sure he keeps his 0 then market Pac vs young undefeated champion next year.

Bradley wasn't promoted very well. Arum has the know how to build stars and why waste time with Bradley if he isn't going to do anything with him but serve him on a platter to Pac. Arum is already saying that Bradley may not be next for Pac....after he already has him signed......before, he was the front runner. Mayweather is losing popularity by the day and America needs another African American boxing star.....all the guy has to do is win. All Bradley has done so far is win.

He is not dumb, greedy but not dumb. He knows that Pac only has a few fights left and he could be trying to cash out but what happens then? Who has he got with upside? A bunch of Hispanic fighters.....no top American fighters, especially African American fighters. The wise decision, IMO, would be to take a guy that has had several title defenses against the top names in the division and who is undefeated and take what is a strong foundation and build on it. Bradley is not some hype job, he has serious potential......Arum will have an entire story line and personality picked out for Bradley that he will use to market him.

Or he could sign him, feed him to Pac, pay him 2 or so million, make millions from the Pac end of it and then look around for some other guy to market as the next big thing.
