Ray Robinson- is obvious he is pretty much the one who set the current standard for complete fighters

Marvin Hagler- could do it all from an offensive standpoint and had good defense

Ray Leonard- could do even more than Hagler on the offensive side, had pretty suspect defense but could move.

Roberto Duran- Great offense and inside defense although lacked on the outside a bit

Floyd Mayweather Jr.- Can do it all in a boxing ring, not the most offensive minded guy but he can do it all on the offensive side including hurt people and his defense is first rate. In my opinion he comes the closest to Ray Robinson, at least I see a lot of Ray Robinson in Floyd.

Honorable mention- Alexis Argeullo, JCC, James Toney, Bernard Hopkin, Archie Moore

Not all of them were perfect but each knew how to cover their flaws when at their best.

Why do you feel Leonard had suspect defense?

leonards defense was not suspect at all imo he had great defense. a well rounded defnense cause he could block use his feet ,ove his head and clinch all verry well

and saying duran had great inside defense and lacked on the outside???

the rounds duran won against hagler were when he wasnt being pressured. he was crafty and could be real cute if he wanted to

He just wanted to fight, he never focused on it he was always interested in getting his. Which is an admirable quality but his defense suffered accordingly and every time he didn't want to get hit he really just used his legs and that is really the lowest level of defense.

It is not like he was horrendous, but I was never impressed with his defense.

Straight up no Leonard did not have great defense, he was good at moving and using range which is the lowest form of defense. He took a lot of punches~ and he was a tough dude so he didn't really care to take a few to beat up on the other guy. His only way to freeze a guy out was to move and that isn't great defense~

You are using one fight of Duran against a guy that likely overlooked him, he suffered against cute guys at his best weight he was not great on the outside but not a hack either.

These guys aren't perfect they had flaws but knew how to cover them hence why they are complete.
