reason they want that fight instead of 3fights is because there value as a fighter goes up. instead of making peanutts there gonne get atleast 1 -1.5 mill more then they used to per fight.

Mayweather even said it when you get a big fight its a win, win. or win lose. you could lose the fight and gain fans, or win the fight and gain fans. more money for future fights.

Sergio is a good example. If he fought Pac he might get what 10 million? Well he just passed on a fight with pirog that would have got him 3 million. He couldve just whipped him at the end of this year. Fight 2 other mid level fighters next year and boom there you have it, hes at least at 9 million. Instead of sittin around like everyone else hoping to get a shot at Pac. Granted up to this point Sergio has done a pretty good job of stayin busy but don't fall off now tryin to get a fight with Pac. the line is too long

PS. Tim Bradley is doin the same thing

Yes, but Tim Bradley will actually get the fight though. Whereas, Martinez will not get the fight no matter what unless he signs with Top Rank. And that ain't happening. Pac can say anything he wants, I mean anything. But at the end of the day, it is Arum who calls the shots on who he fights next. Then after that, maybe Roach has somewhat of a say. It is Top Rank or nothing.

Your value goes up if you win the 3 fights as well. Lets say Sergio beat Chavez, Pirog, Cotto. His value would be way up plus he made money in the meantime. Not to mention a year later you will be even more in the running for the Mayweather/Pacman fight because you cleaned out the rest of the competition.

Also your value will not necessarily go up if you get the big fight. Nobody who has lost to Pac recently has seen their stock go up. Why? because they lost (Cotto, Hatton, Clottey, etc...) Sergio has a better chance of beating the 3 guys I mentioned than going down to 150, getting the fight w/ PAc, and then actually beating him

Can people stop saying Martinez is a 147-154 fighter. Yeah he once fought at 147 but that was 10 years ago. Asking Martinez to drop to 147 is like asking Manny to go back to 130.

A member of his own team said this recently, maybe if Team Martinez stop this we will.

good point about Tim Bradley, it will pay off for him kinda. Like I said before you'll get this one payday but his value for the future will only go up if he wins. He's been sittin on his a** the past year and a half. He could have fought 3 or 4 guys and made the same money for the 1 fight with Pac. Plus he prob would have a better chance of beating those 3 or 4 guys in a row and still be undefeated, rather than beating Pac

What happened to 150? Oh that's right...Martinez has some skill.

                  Carry on.

I haven't heard Martinez say anything about 147. He has repeatedly said he can't go below 150 and so this 147 talk is insane. Martinez knows or should know Pac can't get to 154 and Pac knows Martinez can't get to 147. Seriously, this talk about them fighting is ******ed.
