I don't think it will be the weight class that costs him, he and Manny are similar size there is not some crazy range issue that will allow JMM who is a good counter puncher to be out ranged badly.

What I am worried about though is wear and tear on JMM he has been in a lot of tough fights recently and really he hasn't looked all that sharp going back to Casamayor.

Still this is the fight he wanted so I think he will leave it all in the ring, we will see the best of whatever he has left and I think he can be competitive.

Still a guy in this situation the wheels can come off at any point even in the middle of a fight. I just hope JMM has that one great fight left in him, it may not be enough to win but I think he will be competitive.

I agree with the ts in part; I see your points as true, but at the same time, at this stage if Marquez has slowed down even 1/3 a step then it will be a very tough night indeed. I'm a fan of Marquez, but right now i'd have to say that I hope JMM will be competitive.

JMM definitely has a window if he can survive the first four rounds by not getting KO'd or knocked down. However, my only fear is that Manny may become overconfident and complacent in believing, that he can take JMM anytime he wants, because he's a much smaller opponent and therefore he may try to carry Marquez into the later rounds which would be a huge mistake; Given Marquez' veteran experience and ring savvy. My hope is that Pacquiao starts out fast and impose his will on Marquez early to ensure the KO.

Pacquiao will either stop him before 6, or the fight will be a carbon copy of the first two fights. . . I don't see why people think this fight will be so one-sided based on their previous two fights? pacquiao has gotten better, but like nacho was saying, that could actually play into marquez's hands now should Pac decide to try and "box" with Marquez more. . .

Also, I don't see how people can come to the conclusion that the weight is such a big deal? Marquez has FOUGHT ONCE at 144 pounds against THE BEST defensive fighter of our era, the HARDEST style. . . AND, he didn't even honor the catchweight! ONE FIGHT! This time he's fighting a guy he went life and death with WHO IS NOT a natural WW, and who will have NO SIZE ADVANTAGE AT ALL! Both will come in at 148ish.

I think there's too much physical gap.

In any fair fight, Marquez greatly troubles Pacquiao.

This is not a fair fight.

If Marquez get past the 6th Round I'll be reasonably suprised.

Hard to imagine Marquez not being competative. I know it has come too late in his career and 2 or 3 divisions higher than his ideal fighting wieght but I still see him being competative.

He was shutout by Floyd but even in that fight he still kept coming forward, he wasnt taking a sustained beating and in danger of being stopped. It was Floyd that was on teh backfoot until the final bell using the ring. Manny doesnt have Floyds skills so I cant see a boxing shutout like that.

If Marquez' reactions were as good as they used to be I'd pick him but the Casa/Kats/Diaz fights tell me age has taken its toll whereas Pac is nearer his prime.

I expect Marquez to come out with a fighting heart, but, then we all saw one of the recent Pacman' fight on how he blew away the face of another Mexican warrior - Margs! who suffered a broken eye socket.

Marquez will be facing a different Pacman, with lateral movements, both hands capable of delivering hard punches of combos in great speed.

The fight will gonna be exciting, bloody and brutal!

                      Pacman by KO!
