you don't need big legs, you just need strong legs.

I've always had thin legs. But with the boxing and the running they become strong.

I remember squatting more than most of the football team in my senior year. I put up either 320 or 340 squatting, and I was fighting at 147lbs.

Boxers legs are built for endurance, not the explosive big legs that will tire rather quickly.

Boxers may have skinny legs but be assured that they are strong......Rockin'

great post..small doesnt =weak..as long as you're proportionate and put in the work you will be fine. Now some fighters do become top heavy and that isn't a good look

Boxing and running are two insanely different physical actions.

Having a strong base would greatly benefit the boxer and definitely improve punching power.

              Any reason behind this?
The boxer body is meant to be sleek and strong, not muscular and bulky.

Many have won and been KO artists without the need for huge calves.

You just owned yourself. Go look at his past fights. His legs, and especially calves, have always been big. Smh

Nutrition, hard work & great genetics. That is how a fighter should be built - not top half heavy!

It's about strength more than it is size - Strong legs = conditioning, improved punch resistance and power comes from the legs, it also allows you to take a shot better. This is why for example Tyson was able to generate such power, perfect technique & strong, powerful legs.

because the only time they really workout their legs, is when they jog like maddogs

and everyone knows jogging is an aerobic excercise that will burn fat/muscle more than make it
