No doubt about it Ric, it is needed. It's not a luxury or prop at this point, it's a necessity. If it's not done, the sport will continue losing credibility and appeal. It will hurt from not trying to improve its integrity.

    Boxing cannot afford otherwise.

I've always like the idea; however, the implementation of a playback is tricky because at what level will the playback be used for? Rules from the state? ABC? Some states may wish/may not want this. Imagine the headache of persuing it...it's already an issue to get standardize drug testing policies.

Unlike an organization like the NFL which owns the rights to all telecasts, you have HBO which exclusively owns the telecast and may not see any benefit of such a tool.

      I like the post Ric!

I think it is, or at least implement it in championship rounds. Fans and boxers alike are being robbed.

Even with Replay, the last 2 PPV results would have been upheld

Yes it should, at the end of any round with controversy. The ref should be given that minute between to check up on the controversy & reverse it at the beginning of the next round, if need be. Or in last saturday's case after calling timeout before a decision is made.

I definitley think it would be good for the sport. Sometimes the referee misses things by accident, and sometimes it can be costly.

In the Hopkins fight the ref saw clearly what happened, he was just being an incompetent twat..
