Comments Thread For: Schaefer, Shaw Agree: No Hopkins-Dawson Rematch

If there is one thing that both sides agree on from Saturday night, there is no interest in a rematch between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson. At Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Chad Dawson (31-1, 18KOs) stopped Bernard Hopkins (52-6-2, 32KOs) in the second round to capture the WBC light heavyweight title. Hopkins suffered a left shoulder injury after being pushed off from a clinch, which sent him down near the ropes.

Thank god there won't be a rematch!!! Good riddance!!

Let's just hope the TKO 2 decision is upheld, so Hopkins has no more bargaining chips. He broke George Foreman's record already. He doesn't need to keep the belt NOR does he need to keep boring the fans with his ugly-ass style.

Goodbye, BHOP.....you are still a HOFer!!

I hope Chad fights Pascal next then Cloud, Cleverly and maybe the winner of the super six. He has all of the tools to beat those guys.

What? No rematch?? Then the fight was fixed. That makes no sense for the rematch not to happen. That's bull****, all day long. There must be a rematch, there's no way there isn't one. If the ruling gets reversed, they have to fight again, they have to.

The decision should stay the way it is. Everyone knows Dawson didn't stop Hopkins. It's just criminal for Hopkins ot overreact like that for a PPV. I was probably one of the 15 fans who bought the PPV and I want at least half of my money back. Or have some kind of discount for the people who bought it, like 20 dollars off. So the cable companies charge $35. If this decision is overturned, i'm not buying another HBO PPV until next year when I feel like it.

Tell your boy B-Hop that. He's the one that did no mention of a rematch. Schafer is going by what Hopkins wants.
