At least Mayweather took the dirty tactics from Ortiz like a man and continued to fight. On the otherhand, Hopkins premeditates for these type of situations of quick exits when the opportunity presents itself.

The second (really the first) "injury" bout was with Antwun Echols, I incorrectly said earlier it was again Allen, and Echols threw him down and he said he'd dislocated his shoulder but wanted to fight on. He didn't use it for about a round trying to fake Echols in, buut it didn't work, so he went back to using it. He won the fight.
Sothis is the THIRD time Hopkins has faked an injury trying to get a DQ. He also tried in the calzaghe fight, and a few others too. I think almost every fight.

I'm normally a fan of Hopkins (though I do believe he legitimately lost to Calzaghe), but not his dirty tactics. This was not an example of quitting, however.
Dawson picked up Hopkins and threw him on the mat. That's an illegal move in boxing. By rule, Dawson committed a foul. That means any injury or stoppage thereafter requires a 5 minute recovery period, and/or a declaration of No Contest.
The ref went to Hop's corner and asked him, "can you continue?" Bernard replies, CLEAR AS F---ING DAY, "Yes." The ref waives it off anyway and calls it a TKO, because he could see that Hopkins was injured.
So, the facts:
-Hopkins leaned on Dawson; that isn't illegal, but does require separation.
-Dawson tackled Hopkins; that is illegal. Depending on severity, it's a warning, or a point.
-An injury resulted, thus the official asked Hopkins if he could continue. Hopkins said he could. The ref made the call to stop the fight based on the injury, as well as the doctor's quick examination.
THE REF STOPPED THE FIGHT. HOPKINS DID NOT!
So you can stop talking like a bunch of jack-asses. Hopkins didn't quit. He was fouled, and subsequently injured, but plead his case to continue.
I have to agree with this and is essentially what I was saying a few pages back. I think his injury was being a bit exaggerated, but I don't think he expected for the ref to just stop the fight, he expected to get 5 minutes to recover, which I believe the fight would have resumed.

Hopkins Fan or Anti Hopkins, Injury or no Injury.
The point is, Officially, Logically, Legally, This can NOT possible be a TKO.
Only Scenario's are: -
a Technical decision - However only 1 round had passed, and it was the second round. Only completion of 4 rounds can a TD be made
a No Contest
a DQ - However a DQ wasnt made because the Ref forgot to caution Dawson after the throw.
a TKO is not possible, so i dont know how it was given, unless for some reason the referee thought that Hopkins was brought to the ground by a punch (which he obviously wasn't)

Whatever tho...boxing aint boxing anymore...
Wish I came up in the 80's...big fights actually lived up to be big fights back then...
Who cares what he says.
Yeah, Hopkins is that quick on his feet, to already start planning mid-air, while falling down, to start grimacing a little earlier in advance.
