  • Bottom Line:

The Regeree Screwed up. Playing acting or genuine injury is irrelevant at this stage. Point is, the TKO decision makes absolute zero sense.
Should either have been a NC/ND or a DQ in these circumstances.

      • Funny how BHOP fans want to blame Dawson and yet say nothing about Bernard fouling Chad by jumping on his back, or what ever the hell he was trying to do. I also just looked at Boxrec and it has Hopkins TKOed in 2. It may not stay that way but for the moment I personally believe that it is absolutely hilarious. lol lmao See I told you it even made me laugh out loud.

          • Im glad the undercard fights were good! Even though I think Hopkins was lying and deserves to have the title taken away for faking I know it was the wrong call and the decision will be turned into a no contest! Hopkins really disappointed me cause that was a bull**** move on his part I'm glad Dawson called him out in front of the cameras but I really doubt Hopkins gives a ****, he knows the match will be a no contest get his belt back and keep his million dollar pay day! BULL****!!

All of this nonsensical garb means zilch if the doctor's report confirms Hopkins' suffered an injury, thus forcing the commision to overturn the decision to a NC.

The referee made the split second judgement call that Dawson's move was not a foul, after viewing the replay, to anyone who isn't a blind moron, Dawson's move should be called a foul. You just can't lift an opponent off the floor and throw him to the canvas, this is boxing, there is no way you can spin it. So what if Hopkins was leaning on his neck, you wait for the referee to pull him off, you don't commit a foul.

Haha, its funny how the Hopkins fans are calling foul on Dawson. When Hopkins has been the dirtiest fighter in boxing for 15 years.

              What comes around, goes around.

If you jump and lean on someones back, you are going to get shoved off. It's illegal and as we all know, Hopkins has made a famous career of using highly illegal tactics and revealing in it. He would say its boxing. It's not dancing, it's a fight.

If you are going to play that way, you can't expect that you're opponent won't retaliate. You do something illegal, the opponent might just do it back. The other thing is that Hopkins has been playing with fire for too long. In nearly all of his fights the last few years, he has played up supposed fouls way, way too much. Someone finally called him on it and wouldn't take it.

I don't see how anyone can possibly lay any blame at Dawson's feet. This has been Hopkins' bread and butter for an entire career and worst of all is that every single one of his fans will say the same ****. "Hey man, it's a fight. Hopkins is a fighter". Yeah, but now it's all illegal when someone does it to him? So, if Dawson had head butted him, hit him on the breaks, lowblowed him, punched then grabbed, leaned on him, used his elbows.......it's all BS and shouldn't be allowed and the ref should have DQ' him? Instead, when Hopkins does something illegal, like punch, jump in, greg and then lean on the others guys back but gets called on it and shoved off it's not his fault at all?

Come on ****s. Be real. Think a little.

Just make a rematch. If you're going to dish it out, you gotta be able to take it too.
How was Hopkins jumping in on him? He threw a right hand that Dawson slipped and then threw him. I agree with your point that Dawson necessarily shouldn't be blamed, but it definitely shouldn't have been a TKO win for him.

Bottom line is, Hopkins was willing to continue.
Then why didn't HOpkins get up? Hopkins was milking the injury way too much.

                  • Commission Reversal

Since this happened in CA. there is a likely chance this horrible decision bt an incompetent ref will be reversed. If it was anywhere else like Nevada or NY, those commissions do not like to admit mistakes, but CA will rectify mistakes when they have to. For ex. the Bradley vs Cambell fight and the Toney vs Rahman fight. Now if they reversed the Toney vs. Rahman fight when it was obvious Rahman could continue then this decision will be overturned.

The commission has several errors made by the ref to consider.
                    1. Dawson clearly lifted Hopkins up and threw him down which is an obvious foul, but the ref did not rule it as one.
                    2. The ref never told Hopkins if he did not continue then he would lose the fight by TKO.
                    3. The ref never called in the dr. to get his advice on Hopkins injury.

                    • and the fact that they didnt let the ref get interviewed at the end was mad suspect
