Corrales. He dropped him like 5 times in that fight and just thoroughly dominated a bigger man in Corrales.

Mayweather took bad advantage. It was a disgrace.
The division he still fought in two year later~ damn that Joel Casamayor for dragging him down a full two year after he said he had enough~

Make some more excuses for Chico like he got kidnapped by and sodomized by aliens the night before the fight~ he was just to man to admit that.

If rearranging his girls face was an issue, he didn't have to take the fight then he could have waited his stretch wasn't that long.

Corrales x5, great fight against a damn good fighter. Gatti simply wasn't that good at that point.
Yeah, he was #1 by default.

After his trilogy with Mickey Ward he was considered a Top 5 Jr Welterweight. He only moved up to #1 because the fighters above him either vacated or lost.

Still, he was #1 when Mayweather fought him and for the fights that were available to him in fairness Gatti was the highest ranked and one of the best available considering 140 was generally a weak division besides Cotto and Hatton who weren't available at that particular time.

But agree Gatti was well past it at that point been in many wars and no where near as good as Corrales.

I would personally go for the undefeated Chico Corrales. But damn the how I loved the head and body combinations in the gatti fight!

So done with that division was Corrales that he won a 130 lb. title two years after the fight. Everything else was a bunch of excuses thrown out there by and for a fighter who'd been unstoppable to that point and got demolished. Because it was Floyd that beat him, these excuses were propagated.

But Corrales was definitely the better performance and win.
how was that possible when kostya tysu was the reiging lineal champion and hatton fought him 3 weeks before the floyd vs gatti fight?.....
