Corralles simply because Gatti was a barely walking punching bag by then. Such a horrible fight overall

Corrales. He was expected to beat Gatti like a drum. He was the underdog against Chico.

Corrales but the Gatti fight was so unbelievably one-sided that it is somewhat underrated. Floyd was expected to win clean by outboxing him, but there were quite a few who didn't think Floyd would stand up to Gatti's power. Whether or not they admit that now is a separate issue. We never found out because Gatti couldn't touch him, which was remerkable because Floyd stood in there and put an absolute BEATING on him.

gatti was worn but that was an amazing display.

The better performance was against chico. No one expected him to pull that **** off. Diego was an undefeated beast and floyd dominated him. Epic.......

Sometimes It's strange remembering that Gatti was ranked #1 at 140 when Mayweather beat him.

But Corrales was definitely the better performance and win.

He sure as hell hadn't earned a number one ranking, no way.

Corrales x5, great fight against a damn good fighter. Gatti simply wasn't that good at that point.

Corrales had given up the division at least 6 months before, and lived in a dweat box for weeks before the fight right up to weigh-in time. Failed the 1st weigh0in. Could barely walk to the scales. That wasn't Corrales in ther, but, as he said GEFORE the fight,
I needed the money and they gave me an offer too good to refuse". He was not only broke, but his marraige had broken up and he was headed to gaol immediately after the fight. The money was for the lawyers.

Mayweather took bad advantage. It was a disgrace.

Gatti was on one of the best runs of his career sure his name helped him but he was doing a bit of work before that fight, he was never in Mayweather's league or any top end boxer really but it is not like he was on the scrap heap when Floyd fought him he was doing well.
