What do you mean by that? If I ordered this ppv, I would of been pissed that the referee did not make Hopkins fight. He shouldn't of let Bernard take the easy way out, Unless he took out his mouthpiece & absolutely refused to fight.

I believe he was faking also. It's one of his favourite tactics. Gabriel Montoya said that he was right beside Hopkins when he passed on his way to the dressing room and there was no shoulder lump. And when the after-fight interview showed him gesturing with that same "injured" arm and shoulder, showing what happened, there was no shoulder lump.

The only way a doctor can actually diagnose a separation without seeing a shoulder lump, is to have the patient hold a heavy weight during the Xray. otherwise an Xray is only for possible bone fractures. 5 different medical sources say the same. No account of holding any heavy weight, was given, merely the taking of an Xray. So....it's possible...............
But all the doctor had was the word of ......Hopkins.........???

I believe he was trying to get points or a DQ and overreached himself. If it was ruled an NC he would have had a pot of money for doing nothing except training, and he is arrogant and egomaniacal enought to believe that the bout could be re-arranged.

He clearly overlaid Dawson and was pressing him down, when Dawson straightened upwards and, by doing so, thrust him away. Typical Hopkins messup anyway. Can't understand why posters here think anything of him at all. Both promoters have gone on record that there would be no interest in a return bout. Which shows that the fight sold very poorly.

      just my opinion.

      • Not including the proof from the doctor that he was injured, I don't know why people think Hopkins would quit. He was doing well and it was a close fight which many thought Hopkins was controlling

        • all im gunna say is its a shame. hopkins wasnt losing that fight in my opinion, and he clearly just wanted a way out, he didnt pop nothing out thats b s.. he musta really felt like he was gunna lose, or felt like gassed or something made him wanna quit.. cuz that wasnt how the real bhop goes out...

          • It's like the old saying goes, never cry wolf. B-Hop might have been injured last night, i doubt it, but i's possible. But in the end, B-Hop has taken full advantage of borderline fouls to take extended rest, and this time around it just didn't work out to his advantage.

              • BHop's got away with so much over the years it's almost fitting that one day it rebounds back on him.

Feel sorry for the people who paid to watch it.

                • Live by the sword Die by the Sword.... I dont care what the Drs reported, if Hopkins didnt lean on Dawson he wouldnt have ended up in that position, besides he still could have gotten up he choose not to.

I agree hopkins should have got up quicker though, but like I said I don't think he was aware what was going on and that the ref was going to stop the fight.

At the end of the day, any which way you look at it, who's right, who's wrong, who fuucked up, etc., this is a No Contest.
                    Good post man.....

I dont get that at all, bizarre isnt it ?

Nobody in the world is more aware than Hopkins, that a fight goes for 12 rounds. The later rounds must have factored into Hopkins thinking as he planned that fight out, and nothing had occurred that could have made Hopkins second-guess himself.

Why the *** would he " want a way out " at that very early stage of that fight?

And then you have a doctors report confirming an A/C injury.
