All time the Punisher would not crack top 100 atg. But he had the tools to beat certain higher ranked fighters style wise. he was all heart, all action & highly avoided. I honestly he would have been right at home in the 80's getting spanked by the last great era of boxing by the like of Hearns, Duran Hagler & Sugar Ray. He wouldn't have beaten not one, but that **** would have been exciting to watch & he wouldn't duck them. IMo in his prime he would have beaten both Pac & Floyd who wouldn't be able to get past the size & workrate, but they are still better all time. His style is a nightmare for any small welterweight which they are, which is why he has never gotten a shot at either.
You have to be good all-time to be considered "all-time", not just good now (or almost now). Paul had his moment, but it was just a moment. His career doesn't even show up on the radar screen compared to the top 100. Sad to say, but in a few years, only a few hardcore fans will even remember him.
I agree. He's not an ATG, but he's an all-time really good fighter. He may not have had the great skills or anything, but he beat some good people. He had a bad loss against Quintana, but avenged it with an immediate KO. And, he split with Sergiom but obviously Sergio got the better of the wins.
His wins over Margarito, Wright, Cintron, and Martinez are all really good wins. I am just saying I think people underrate him a lot, because he didn't have the great skills, and because Martinez killed him in 2 rounds.
From 2006-2010, Williams was one of the better fighters from 147-154. Not an ATG like Floyd or Manny, probably not even as good as Sergio, but he was all-time really good just with his wins over Margarito, Wright, Cintron, and Martinez.
