Steve Kim - Floyd Ortiz had 850k buys?

Whatever the number is, I hope it stays in teh same range as pac's numbers so neither fighter can set up a roadblock. . . believe that if one of the cards did 850k, and the other card did 1.3ish - Arum or Floyd would set the fight back another 6-8 months with a 60/40 demand. . . .Comment

They don't love him enough to spend 70 dollars on him or he would be fighting on PPV all the time. Morales was just on ppv and did a total of 50,000 buys. Canelo and Morales added very little in ppv buys.Let me make this real simple for you, When Canelo fights, look at how many show up to support him at the event....
Cross compair that when Floyd fought Castillo the first and second time....
Big difference kid, the Latinos in So Cal, in the Southwest really, and in Mexico Love this ****ing kid, I dont expect you to know this because you dont likely live in these areas but its the ****in truth they all talk about him when he has a fight comming up... They all turn out when he fights evidence like I said is in the ticket sales.Comment

well, floyd did have to buy like 3,000 plus tickets and it still didn't sell out, so.... yeah
dunno about that, but he is somewhat biased against floyd for obvious reasons besides skin color.plus he`s a known Floyd hater/black fighter hater.Comment

really? how so? cause if Floyd/Ortiz does worse than Pac/JMM III, floyd loses all kinds of clout at the negotiation table, not to mention floyd is supposed to be the bigger cash cow than pac.
I wouldn't be so quick to accept the 850k. I mean that's a failure considering Morales and Canelo were on the undercard on a Mexican Holiday.
Are you saying Ortiz was cherrypicked?Victor Ortiz isn't a good fighter and that is why he was hand picked for Floyd to look good.Comment

I agree, but...
That's one way to think about it. OR People, instead of paying for Floyd/Ortiz, decided to wait a couple more weeks and pay for Pac/Marquez III.I doubt Pac/Marquez hits a million if this is true. People want to see Pac/Mayweather and they're done shelling out money until that fight happens.
We'll know after both PPV #s come out.Comment

Lets just face reality, Mayweather is not the draw you all make him out to be. he just isnt... that isnt nobodys fault but his.Comment

Ortiz was a relative no-name to casual fans and he didn't bring the mexican-american crowd like they hoped they would, even with the undercard.
850-900k (if true) are still solid numbers. This helps the Pac fight imo because I think that one side needs to be pushed into it.Comment

it seems mayweather is only a draw when his opponent is perceived to have a decent chance to beat him or atleast give him a tough fight.
that's the curse of being the villian.
people will pay to watch the good guy fight bums (for example, Germans for Wlad and Vitally), but nobody will pay to see a villain fight bums.Comment
