Arum and Roach wouldn't put Pacquaio in the ring with Martinez even if Martinez came down to 147. Besides, Arum already has Bradley scheduled for Pac's next fight. If there are negotiations taking place, they are definitely taking place between Mayweather and Martinez.

Arum won't try to make a Pac/Mayweather fight until Pac tells him that he is ready to retire. When that happens, Arum will bend over backwards to kiss Floyd's a$$ to make the fight. For Pac's (financial) and our sakes, I hope it is not too late. Mosley turned down a Mayweather fight at 135 and 147. Then, he spent three years begging Floyd to fight him. Floyd may not want the fight if Arum is not willing to put Pac in the ring with him by May of next year. Floyd has given him plenty of time to make the fight. It is time for Arum to stop being greedy and allow Pac to take his a$$ whipping and ride off into retirement.

I can already imagine the boring 24/7.
Martinez won't sell that much more than a fight with Bradley since both have no fanbase.

with bradley you can sell this fight a few different ways:

        1) a young lion vs. pac (people accuse pac of fighting old boxers)

        2) african american vs. pac (people accuse pac of fighting only mexicans)

        3) 140 champ vs. the 147 champ (closer in weight than the MW vs. the WW champ, and Bradley has a legitimate claim to the Champ of jr WW)

        4) Bradley is also a p4p fighter (5-10)

People should just stop with the fanbase excuse, it doesn't apply. Why do fans bring it up like it does? Martinez has more fans than Baldomir & Clottey combined. Real boxing fans know who he is, even if you don't like him, a real fan knows who he is. Floyd/Pac -Martinez outsells every ppv fight after Floyd-Oscar, seriously.

If Martinez beats Pacquiao, he was too big. If Martinez loses to Pacquiao, he was drained. I don't see a good outcome out of this fight. I wouldn't mind seeing it though if Mayweather doesn't step to face Pacquiao next year.

Hatton said he was the best hed ever been before he fought Pac.
LMW champion?? Dude he beat Foreman for the belt........ Foreman has never been an elite. You're an idiot, wipe Pac's cum off your eyes.

                  1) I'll give that, but the young lion angle didn't seem to work all that well for Mayweather. And the criticism is more about old past-prime fighters. Martinez is nowhere near faded.

2). Eh, I think this criticism was overblown by Hopkins and nobody in reality probably cares that much about that. And the argument is about slick African American fighters, which Bradley is not.

3)The closer weigh class does make it more likely to happen since it will be easier for Pac. But in terms of making money, I think boxing fans care more about seeing Pacquiao challenged against a legit threat. Martinez is a whole lot more threatening than Bradley, especially if it's made at 154. And even if it's made at 150, most people probably won't know the difference.

                  4) True

Eh, oh well. In the end, you make good points. I'm jut hoping Martinez gets a fight with Mayweather. Martinez beating Mayweather would put a lot more pressure on Pacquiao to fight him.

The alternative outcome people don't seem to be mentioning is that it ends up being a good competitive fight. That's what most people should care about, whether Pacquiao wins or loses. For some reason, people seem to assuming that the only outcome is that one of the two fighters will dominate, which seems highly unlikely to me. There's too much focus on what the fight will do for each fighter's legacy on this board. **** that. I just want to see a good fight. Pacquiao has the skills to make it competitive even if Martinez is bigger.
