I never liked Lennox but there is no denying he was a great fighter, 3 is a bit too high imo but hey each to his own there is no exact science here after all!

On his best day, no heavyweight boxer that ever lived could beat him.

Throughout his career, Tyson became well known for his ferocious and intimidating boxing style as well as his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring. Tyson is considered to have been one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time.

Absolutely agree. There's never been a hw with his combination of speed, head movement, power and footwork. The only thing he lacked was height (and sanity later on) but that played into his style anyways. I'm still waiting for someone to suggest a fighter that had anything near his attributes. Ali comes closest for me but he never had Tyson's power. I always imagine how things could've turned out if Cus hadn't died, if King hadn't been around, if he'd kept Rooney, if he hadn't been mind-****ed by his wife and others around him and if he hadn't been wrongly sent to prison. Just about everything that could go wrong for him did and all in the span of a few years.

Im the biggest fan of Tyson there is but we must admit his downfall was HIS fault. He is the one who lost his passion, got over confident, let his rage spill over...

Mike has sorted his life out now and seems to be doing great, i spoke with him last year and he was so cool, funny guy. Best of all he seemed genuinely content and happy.

Cus might have kept him on the straight and narrow, certainly for longer anyway but as bad as King and Givens....all the spongers ect were the buck stops with Tyson.

Short and Explosive prime, H2H as good as if not better than anyone
And even after his prime - Post Douglas and then from McNeeley on he was still MUST WATCH material - a Rock Star of the game and exciting to the end.

It was a Privilege to see him Live for us who did.... He wont be forgotten in a hurry....Not ever.

Tyson is one of the best HW's to ever live. I think people who disagree weren't sure what they were seeing in his prime. He had elite speed, elite power, elite timing, elite chin......he was elite full stop.
When he was in jail he wasn't prime anymore, anything after 1990 or latest 1991 can now way be considered prime. And even in his prime his skills didn't match a prime Lewis' skills in my opinion.

And his chin definitely wasn't elite, what was elite was his defensive movement during his prime.

***** please.......it's comments like this that show up people who haven't even seen his fights. Go watch Tyson v Ruddock 1 and 2. Tyson took everything Ruddock had. Those two fights ruined Ruddock. Or how about if you ever meet Lennox Lewis you ask him what he thinks of a shot Mike Tyson's chin...........i believe Lewis comments were that he was "shocked and amazed" at the "shots tyson took"

Better yet, Douglas, a very big man who was heavy handed beat on him mercilessly for 10 rounds before he went down....and he really did beat him up that night.

Still, I can't consider it elite. Decent maybe, but not elite.

Again Tyson deserves to be one of the GOATS. He ruled the division for how many years, and at his best would be favoured against just about any heavyweight.

Marciano has a weak resume as well, and he isnt considered one of the goats because you would pick many heavyweights to beat him and thats where the likes or Tyson and Marciano are different.
