"I didnt hear Cortez say anything all I know is I got fouled and what goes around comes around" (Post fight presser)

Those statements there do not sound like the man is saying I won this fight fair, those statements there are basically Floyd admitting that he fouled the kid back I would have more respect if Floyd and his supporters just owned up and admitted yes he violated the rules, who wouldnt have done the same...

at least in that regard your keeping it real, but thats not what I get, what I get is I am a hater, okay, or I dont know **** about boxing, Sure I dont, or I get Floyd didnt do anything wrong.

bull**** the mans statements alone disprove what you guys argue
Well the first quote proves that he did something dirty ............................. .......................waiting for your point? Every fighter in the history of boxing does dirty stuff. It was dirty, yet legal. And in light of the situation you could argue it was justifiable.

The second quote is interesting, he could have meant he didn't hear Cortez say "let's go" or he didn't hear Cortez say "stop" after the first punch (which is was Victor was waiting for) so Floyd continued with the right.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, let's say Floyd didn't hear Cortez say "Let's go". You are arguing that Floyd accidentally knocked out Victor LEGALLY? His intent was to KO him illegally and he got lucky?

At one point, after the final head-butt, Ortiz actually tried to kiss Mayweather. No lie, watch the tape. He actually tried to kiss him and hug him three times after head-butting him. I don't think Ortiz can have any complaints, he behaved like a rookie chump and got treated like one. The ****** grin on his face after he got KO'd said it all. What a chump.
LOL you're the motherF'ing man. Thats what I thought. No sucker punch, a sucker just got punched is all. LOL

          • Maybe someone should just e-mail NAC and get the word from them. Maybe I will.

You got it once again wrong, read #14 and look at how the fight ended he baited ortiz in to the embrace "tricked" and then nailed him, he should have just nailed him rather than allow Ortiz to hug him that final time

                  • You can make a case that Mayweather should have been disqualified, but boxing doesn't need the ramifications of making that call. . . .What is paramount in the mind of the ref once that punch lands? . . .Is it the technical application of the rules or is it the event, the work that goes into putting it together, the revenue it generates and the sport itself?

If Cortez makes the call then the marquee name in boxing gets disqualified for the kind of ****-house punch that's more at place in a pub carpark and loses his revenue inducing '0'. A multi-million dollar sporting event that includes your hard earned PPV fee ends in a disgraceful DQ. A potential Pacquaio showdown is tainted. Boxing is once again rolling in the gutter and Old Joe has to explain his decision to powerful men with vested interests.

Cortez was never gonna make that call if he could help it, better to let it slide. In a fight of this size his primary concern is not the application of the rules per se, but how best to apply the rules for the sake of the event and for his own self preservation. Mills Lane refused to call a DQ when Holyfield's ear was spat onto the canvas; he took a point. It was only Tyson's persistence that forced him to act after the second bite.

With boxing facing the challenge of an MMA triangle choke and vying for the casual fan, a DQ decision would have made it official: In Mayweather V. Ortiz, boxing made like Tyson Fury and punched itself in the face. Calling it a KO lets us gloss over it and move on towards a true superfight like nothing untoward happened.

                    • 1. you can't argue with ignorance, something i learned long ago on NSB.

                      2. No matter how hard someone tries to convince the world their opinion is right, it still doesn't change reality; Mayweather won the fight by KO, you can cry me a river, it doesn't change that fact.

                      "Let's Go."
