    so the gangsters were sitting ringside at his fight...that's it?!? lol you know how many gangsters have sat ringside at boxing matches worldwide?

    I know the Japanese are cracking down hard on the organized crime recently but come on, this is just silly!

            These are similar circumstances to 2007 when Japans biggest MMA promoter (Pride) lost their TV deal for the same reasons, and mma in Japan has decreased to a dramatic level because of it.

              I don't understand how gangsters sitting ringside could have that much effect though? I mean if they had proof of legit ties like fixing fights etc yeah, of course, but just sitting ringside? that's a stretch imo.

                  who else than gangsters do you expect to attend boxing ??? they are the biggest sponsors . Sure they have to be in the best seats in the house .

                    japanese organize crime is very different from any organized crime we have in the western world. its old, reallllly old, probably among the oldest in the world. and it is a genuine part of society so much that u will have ppl like corporate heads being yakuza bosses. it is not at all a stretch to think that a yakuza sitting ringside is more than enough to influence a fight or even intimidate a boxer etc. these guys are powerful and they are not the type u **** with.
