Flyyy you're way off base here man. A fight can be competitive without being close on the cards.

The Augustus/Mayweather was compeitive too, but it wasn't close on the cards or anything.

Would you call a basketball game thats spread is 40 points competitive if the losing team made every three pointer they took? No, they're still losing by 40 points.

Excellent example, I was thinking of that fight just before I read your post.

Toney dominated the scoring, but the actual fight was very competitive and hard fought.

Put in the Castillo-Mayweather I fight.
Chavez landed just 10 total shots less than Floyd.

You said it was a blow out, not competitive, and like the Gatti fight.

That couldn't be a poorer take on that fight.

I just watched this fight again yesterday, and made a thread about it.

It was a clear win for Floyd, but Chavez made it a tough one. It was compeitive the whole way through.

Many fights have been competitive and in the end one fighter wins by a landslide on points. Thats how many fighters who lose allot still get big fights regardless because they put up a great effort. Look at Gatti, he lost to Robinson twice on the trot and still got big fights.

that is perhaps the worst analogy ever

              heres one.
is a basketball series competitive if one team sweeps the other even if they won each game by three points

The CWS/Stros game is a good example.

Every game was decided by 1 or 2 runs...coming down to the 9th inning every time. The Sox still swept the series though.

Flyyy I don't think me, bozo, PBF(who is a big Mayweather guy I believe), kimmy, etc are all incorrect here.

Im a big Mayweather fan too but a guy has to do more than throw a lot of punches. He has to land. Chavez didnt land and his corner called the fight OFF because their fighter didnt want to be embarassed any more on TV. Thats why Corrales', Chavez and Gatti's corner gave up and threw in the towel.
