Barrera Vs Chavez is signed, no Barros fight!

    Check it out. http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=008010

Barrera is fighting for the IBF lightweight title next in march.

I don't know where this Barrios fight came about but this Chavez fight is signed and is a go!

I wonder what Morales is gonna think if Barrera manages to get a lightweight championship before he does.

You are wrong about that. The Mayweather fight was competitive throughout until Floyds speed just simply overwhelmed Chavez.

Theres no shame in being beaten thoroughly by Mayweather...Corrales can testify to that. This guy has really only lost to top caliber opponents. He'll be a very game opponent for anyone he fights.

I didnt think the fight was competitive at all. Thats why Chavez corner had to stop the fight in round 9 like Gattis corner.

From boxing rec here was the score cards:
Referee: Jon Schorle | Judge: Lou Filippo 89-82 | Judge: Marty Sammon 88-83 | Judge: Tom Kaczmarek 87-84 ~

You can be ahead on points while winning competitive rounds.

Chavez was throwing 100+ punches a round for 9 rounds. He was pushing Floyd to fight at a torrid pace.

It just so happens that Floyd's speed and accuracy at that pace was too much to deal with.

Regardless, it was a good fight and Chavez pressed and made it very competitve.

Was the Corrales fight competitive...and do you think that Corrales should be considered top quality?

I sure as hell do. Chavez has beaten a lot of solid fighters (Johnson, Hernandez, Garena) and has been competitive with Morales and Mayweather.

I will actually bet on a Chavez late TKO in this fight.

chavez got his ass beaten clearly by carlos hernandes but took away a ridiculous decision win as of course he is the bigger draw..had those ***in judges not given chavez the decision, leavender would probably be still alive..who know'?
i wanted to see a rematch between chavez and hernandez..but chavez ran off like a bi.tch and opted to fight past his prime(late leavender johnoson).

Yeah but Chavez has improved a great deal since the mayweather fight. He took Morales the distance and with his naturally bigger size might be able to threaten Barrera. It wouldn't be a major shock if Chavez won!

He's solid, volume puncher but thats about it. Nothing top notch or in Barreras league.
