There is at least 5 fighters who deserve to be ahead of him in my opinion. His overall body of work is not that impressive, he has some great wins, but I cannot have him in my top 5, I didnt before the fight, and this fight confirmed it for me a little bit. He is top 10 for me

He gave his best. He's a limited fighter after all. That's all he could do and he did a very good job.

Anyone who thinks 'survive' is an idiot.

Barker was coming forward all night, looking to take most of Sergio's shots on his gloves (which he did), and time his jab and counters. Sergio just outboxed him. Simple as that.

I don't think Donaire deserves to be in front of Martinez,I don't know I always liked Martinez as well so I might be a bit bias..

              In no particular order

B-hop - resume, plus he is still a damn good fighter

              Marquez - similar reasons

Donaire - has a weaker resume but a similar big ko win, plus I personally feel he has more ability and a much higher technical level.

Both klitchkos - vitali is clearly an atg, wlad still has never proved it at the highest level but the case can be made.

You could say based on ability that guys like ward, gamboa, could arguably be ahead of Martinez soon if they win upcoming big fights. I personally feel they are better fighters right now.

I can imagine people will disagree with some of these, but I feel Martinez has
had a size advantage or in case of pavlik was facing a faded fighter who was not in a good place mentally, and let's be honest here never was THAT good.

Too much has been made of his ko of Williams. I might sound too critical of him, but we are measuring him against the best of the best. He is still top 10 for me, but i have seen enough of him in the past to know he is being overrated currently because he is on a good run.

Of course he came to fight. Darren did really well. I had Sergio ahead by two points going into the final round of the fight. A lot of the rounds were pretty close and quite difficult to score at times.

Barker can return home with his head held high, knowing that he made a so-called Pound-for-Pound great look ordinary.

he came to do neither, he came to outbox martinez and for 6 rounds he did just that, he imo was winning the fight after 6 rounds, problem is when martinez started to go to the body, baker had a very good head defensive, he was blocking most of the shots but was leaving his body wide open

the main criticism I had with baker is why oh why did he not make a body attack plan, it was poor from his corner, martinez was wide open for some serious body damage

I would still have him in my top 5,but I can't argue not one fighter on ya list..

Can't believe that so many idiots here actually think the guy came to fight.
