How can he win 3-4 rounds on most cards and not come to fight? ****** thread and the people who voted survive are either Martinez fans who are upset or don't know anything about Barkers style in which case your vote counts for nothing.

At the half way point the punch stats were very even, no one has competed like that with Martinez for a while, and Barker should apologise for having a good defence and good technique?

Barker put in a good performance against one of the worlds best fighters, but in the end he couldnt keep up, this thread is a tragedy. I don't blame the ts, as he is just asking the question, and people have this opinion but I don't expect anything less from nsb posters. Disgraceful!

To win in the first 6 rounds but after that, he realized the task was a mammoth so was intent on surviving.

He had the right tactics, however, those type of strategies will never win fights as big as this.

Barker fought to negative for Martinez to look good. Reminded me of Clottey - Pacquiao.

Good points. On top of that 1 of the corrupt judges ludicrously had it 99-91 in favour of Martinez. Barker never had any chance of wiining this fight even if he hadn't started to fade.

The other 2 judges had it fairly close, but yeah 99-91 is a disgrace. Lederman had that score also, he got it totally wrong. Martinez missed a lot in the first 6 rounds. He has a he'll of an engine on him though and that's what won him the fight, speed and workrate, Barker couldn't do anything about that. I would be surprised if he didn't get himself a belt before he retires.

Hopefully people will stop overrating Martinez now, is he one of the best fighters in the world? Absolutely. P4P top 5? Absolutely not.

A tad harsh on Martinez to discredit his wins prior. It was impossible for Martinez to look good as Barker was to negative.

I guess many said the same thing after the Pacquiao - Clottey fight. It's not wise to judge a fighter on one bad performance where the opponent is just covering up and not coming to fight.

He came to fight and had a pretty good game plan, but Martinez level was just to much for him..I would not mind seeing Andy Lee vs Barker...

Usually you make sense when ya post, but saying Martinez is not a top 5 P4P fight is not sensible at all bro...But it's ya opinion I'll respect it..
