I think that Martinez looked bad in purpose, because looking flawless didn't bring any good fights and maybe looking vulnerable would. I don't think He trained to his capacity and looked flat at times, all part of his plan to get a big fight.

No, fighter is going to look bad on purpose. Barker is a good boxer who covered up a lot and didn't let his hands go. It's not always easy to look good against a boxer like that.

Martinez said it himself he would be risking his health to make 150 but he's willing to do it for $5 million guaranteed plus PPV upside. But I just don't think a guy who weighs 175+ 30 days before a fight (meaning he's been in camp for at least 4 weeks) can safely make 150. Either make the fight at 154 or chase more realistic fights. There isn't a shortage of guys who want to fight Sergio that he could make big $ from- Bute at 164 in Canada, Sturm at 160 in Germany.

He has no business south of Middleweight, but at least 154 is somewhat reasonable even though that'd be a tight squeeze at this point of his career and his age (don't forget he's 36, a lot harder to shed lbs at that age).

He wants a big fight and Pirog is not a big fight. Also, what has Pirog proven? I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a shot, but he hasn't exactly beaten a lot of good fighters to say the least.

It isn't like Lee is a huge step down from Pirog.
