What is this BS about long counts, counts don't have to be exactly 10 seconds its just when the ref makes it there.

The bottom line is that Cunningham's title was stolen as there was no need to stop the fight but Hernandez's trainer knew that he had folded mentally and was on his way to being battered for the remainder of the fight so they took the easy way out.

cunningham was VERY lucky not to have the fight waved off in the first so he can't really complain about bugger all.

there's always an official at ringside who starts the count as the boxer touches down and the ref can take up the count from him if he can't start it himself for whatever reason

As far as I'm aware - if your up before the 10 count your good to go - therefore he cant be counted out.

It's a sham to take a title this way, and I feel for Cunningham to be honest. What a way to lose your belt man..

first of all a count is not done in real time it's done by the ref and cunningham was up by 8. second of all he goes down with 36 seconds to go in the round and is up right before 26 seconds hits so that's not even 10 seconds in real time.

                But it wasn't

He was up before the ref counted 10 so he did.

I don't see the point to this when Cunningham actually got up, finished the round and came back to score with telling body shots on Hernandez.

Basically people are saying the fight should have been stopped early for no reason whatsoever. I really don't understand this mentality, do people not wish to see a conclusive fight?

it's the refs discretion if the fight is stopped and nobody would have complained if it was stopped but he didn't stop it so what's the point of going on and on about that? that was a judgement call. in the 6th the cut wasn't even bleeding and he stopped it because the corner told him to. no judgement call there. he was following orders from corrupt sauerland. thus the fight is a robbery.

In my mind there's no question that, even if you start counting the moment Cunningham hits the deck, he's on his feet before the count of ten. (I think some people are rushing their counts a little. lol) Steve was wobbly as all get out, but he made it. That was some shot Hernandez smacked him with. Yoan has more power than I imagined.
