Got to love when promoters try to make it a race driven issue. Mayweather did well because of one person, OSCAR DE LA HOYA, with that fight the world witnessed the reality show 24/7 and the Mayweather show was born. If not for those two things, he'd still be fighting in small venues out of Michigan. He doesn't have the same market as SRL, Tyson or even Ali. But he's a got a fan base that shells out to see him perform. But you take the ODLH fight out of the equation, and he's fighting in Michigan...still.

Once again here comes the ignorant comments... Arum has done well with black fighters Ali and Leonard to name a few... What he doesn't do well with is Ni$$as. Ali and Leonard skills spoke for themselves. Floyd has always been BORING and failed to sell out Detriot basically his hometown. Once Floyd became a cartoon character was when he became famous. And yet he has a net worth over 100 mil.
As you said yourself, he''s usually a boring fighter but he is one of the biggest draws in boxing.
