Martinez is just looking for a big payday cause his career took off late. He is targeting FLoyd and Manny because thats the biggest payday. He should worry about cleaning out his division and become a true champion, he had 2 good fights against an overrated Paul Williams and he beat the ghost of Kelly "the ghost" Pavlik. He is like Amir Khan their beating bums and they want to be the P4P king.

Martinez would beat the snot out of Cotto.

Sadly, but true. Cotto turned from wanting to fight the biggest names to settling for the biggest paycheck without getting hurt bad. He learned this the hard way with Pacquiao. I remember him saying Margarito wouldn't make another dime off him. Cotto believes it will be different with Marg now due to the handwrap scandal. Cotto gets defensive when Martinez is discussed, like what a certain top pound for pound fighter out there does in a similar situation.

The fact that you mention the Cintron fight shows how much you know! Cintron was KO'd, DQ'd, and loss a decision in the eyes of anyone that can see. That fight was plagued with horrible officiating.

There's something unappealing about a middle weight trying to call out welterweights. I'd like to see Martinez fight Floyd or Manny but it's just not very honorable calling out all of these smaller fighters.

FACT: there are only two significant paydays in boxing, both fighters have held JMW titles, and Martinez is willing to come in at 150.
