@D4,It would be doing Marquez a diservice to say he was at his best vs Katsidis. He won in style in the end because he is world class but its naive to suggest he was at his best. He has been slowing for years. He took alot of punches from Kats and was on the floor. Prime Marquez wouldnt have had to go through a war to beat Kats and he wouldnt have taken so many punches or be so marked up either. Because his legs have slowed he doesnt move as fulidly as he used to so was standing and trading cuz he had to.

Comments Thread For: Roach: Pacquiao Style Changes For Marquez's Jab

Hahaha .. Roach wishes.
When has Pacquiao ever done anything but throw a jab, jab straight left?
NEVER.
Pacquiao is not the kind of fighter that has different styles of fighting. He's limited. Roach makes these kinds of statements to attempt to make Manny seem more versatile and dynamic than he really is.
Pick ANY Manny Pacquiao fight ... and see if he does ANYTHING differently. He won't. He's the same one dimensional fighter, but now Roach discusses him as if he's improved tremendously.
Where's the evidence?
Roach says that Pacquiao isn't the same fighter he was against Marquez.
In what way has he changed?
He's bigger. THAT'S IT.
Watch Pacquiao's first fight against Morales. Then watch his fight against Clottey. What was the difference? It was Clottey's unwillingness to engage, not Clottey's inability to engage. Pacquiao's face was beaten up in that fight.
Watch Pacquiao's fight against Mosley. You mean to tell me that Manny cannot cut off the ring against a 40 year old fighter who has never had overly fast footwork?
Sure Pacquiao looks good against plodders .. men who slowly come forward and use weak jabs and try to land bombs throughout the fight. That's mostly who he fights. Once he fought a solid counterpuncher like Marquez, his air of invulnerability disappeared and fans were shocked at the way Midget Mouse, who Roach said has drastically improved, was outboxed with relative ease after the first round knockdowns.
The only things that favor Pacquiao in this upcoming fight against Marquez is his size, Marquez having aged 3 years, and the steroid flavored Kool Aid that Pacquiao has pumping in his veins. Remember, Roach himself said that no Olympic style tests could detect HGH.
And if you think that Pacquiao has grown a goatee and a Beatles-styled haircut for fashion then you idiots.
HGH makes a man's brow and jaw jut out and his head bigger. Arnold Schwarzenegger had surgery to on his jaw so that his jaw wouldn't protrude as much as it did because of HGH.
Manny has been hittin' that Kool Aid pretty hard. His head is MUCH larger than it used to be if you watch his fights.
Pacquiao NEVER wore his hair or his beard like he currently does until the PED allegations surfaced. Once people began considering that Pacquiao might be a PED user, he or at least members of his team saw the massive boulder that his head had become and someone told him that it was indicative of HGH use.
Look at Manny's face and head in the Barrera fight. Then look at his face and head in the Mosley fight. No grown man's head completely takes another shape and size in that short amount of years unless there is HGH use or there is a medical condition where one's head keeps growing.
Look at BHOP. He's been a pro since 1988. He looks today pretty much the way he's ALWAYS looked. Same with Mayweather. Same with Roy Jones. Same with Erik Morales. Same with Barrera. These guys haven't gone from having regular proportioned heads that fit their body to having their brows and jaw jut out, their cheek bones become more pronounced, their skin take on a smooth almost pore-less texture.
For those of you who would argue that its because Pacquiao has come up in weight, so did DLH, Mayweather, RJJ, & BHOP. none of them look dramatically different. None of them looks like their bone structure has change even slightly.
Anyone who has been around juiceheads knows what to look for. The texture of the skin changes. The size and shape of the head changes. The brows and jaw begin to protrude. The striations in the muscles become more separate.
Look at Pacquiao in his twenties. And then look at him a few years later above.
Its not proof, but as I said, being around guys who used HGH I know what changes to expect. I knew exactly what to look for and the signs are there in Pacquiao.
Don't take my word for it. We all know someone who has used steroids. Go get your friend/associate and show them these pictures of Pacquiao. Ask them if they see the caveman characteristics in Pacquiao that all HGH users exhibit.
I saw it years ago.
