If Dawson was more active I would think he would be a bad match up for Hopkins but he is just too passive.I could see Dawson getting a controversial dec or draw if he just steps up his work rate but the more likely outcome is Hopkins schools him as Dawson allows him to control the tempo of the fight.

If dawson comes to fight he will make hopkins look real old. The man has unreal skills. There is a reason hopkins wanted no part of this kid for awhile.
That being said the comment about chad not considering his fights mega events struck a cord. I think the kid doesn't care for it anymore. He seems happy where he is in life. That's a problem. B-hop takes him apart if he's disinterested.
Can't call it yet. How many more rounds are left in the executioner? Does "bad" chad return or is he just a bad chad?

his style is bad for bernard. dawson is huge and has fast feet and hands. he's also got a scoring jab. when he takes his half step back it will take him out of bernards range. when bernard takes his half step back i think he's still going to be in range of the double jab.
his temperament, however, plays right into bernards hands
he doesn't turn the heat up when he needs to
i think this will be a competitive fight.
if the odds are even (which i expect them to be) i'm taking dawson
obviously via decision.

Hopkins tricks don't work on gifted black tricky intelligent fighters. Chad will come in focused, more aggressive with combinations and hungry. If this happens, you will see for the first time Hopkins get schooled and maybe stoppage.

Dawson doesn't work enough.... If you make him fight ala Calzaghe or Taylor you can pull it out (though I think he won the Calzaghe fight and at least one of the Taylor fights) but Dawson doesn't fight that way. Bernard isn't going to lay in there like Glen did. Show some footwork lull him to sleep and straight rights down the middle all night. SD12 Hopkins

I disagree with Steward.
While Dawson certainly has the handspeed and skillset to frustrate Hopkins, his workrate lets him down.
He fights at a similar pace to which Hopkins fights which really works in Bhop's favor.
Fighters who have beaten Bhop recently have outworked him for a close decision wins.
I'm not saying Hopkins can't be outboxed because Dawson does have the skillset but he is much harder to outbox than to outwork.
I'm looking forward to this fight, I can't pick a winner.
