so you have nothing to say about the MULTIPLE times cortez warned vic about his head. not to nention the all the times vic hit behind the head and used the elbow on the offensive. but you didnt see any of that. and vic was happy the fight was over. he was going to take a sustained beating. and a lot his blows on the ropes were deflected by floyd he was getting hit with a lot of clean punches. and he didnt want anymore.

are you suppose to say lets go, take your eyes off of both fighters, look the other way, and talk to someone at ringside? YAH SURE, I DONT KNOW BOXING??? ive been watching boxing for over a decade and have never seen it done that way before...ive seen the referee bring both guys to the middle of the ring, place his hand between both fighters then say FIGHT, while maintaining eye contact with the fighters...WHAT REFEREE says "lets go" then walk away, takes his eyes off of both fighters, talk to someone at ringside, then look surprised to see one of the boxers on the floor?

wrong protocol by cortez if u ask me

Imo Floyd was schooling Ortiz for 3 rounds and slowly Ortiz was heating up on the 4th and seems to take that round. The fight was starting to get exciting until that sucker punch. I haven't seen such or known any fight that ended similar. It was legal, but ref should have reset it and give Ortiz 5 mins to recover.

you think vic was happy the fight was over?
thats his personality. he seems to be that way all the time after his fights, even after the maidana fight where he gave up...ortiz looked like to be in a good mood. sad to say, but thats just his personality.

The fight that I watched had Mayweather throwing 4 shot combos(When the last time money threw a 4pc???? ) in the 4th and was pressing Ortiz who got frustrated and as a result threw a headbutt worthy of an automatic DQ--> IMO....

I am disappointed in both fighters....

just so everyone knows lederman had the fight at three rounds to 1 before the knock down. To say the fight was over for ortiz at that point is ******. Since when was a fight decided in the first 4 rounds. Another thing that people fail to acknowledge is that the two fighters were never brought to there nutrial corner (which in most circumstances is what you do when penalizing a fighter). Really both fighters are somewhat at fault. Victor Ortiz was way too apologetic and Floyd's punches were cheap shots you can't justify in a professional level. And for Mayweather fans arguing that cortez indeed called time in, I do recall there was an article where Cortez himself admits he did not call fight or time in or anything similar. Got the fight on DVR watched it twice, nope didnt happen. He didn't call fight on or time in. Plus the 10 second bell came on and it lasted well over 10 seconds thats when ref ask if the bell rang, so Victor got punced looked at ref and said wtf and floyd unloaded and celebrated as if he was the G.O.A.T, which ehh sorry buddy made you look a lil short of that.

There has been some debate on whether or not referee Joe Cortez "verbally instructed" Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Victor Ortiz to resume fighting during their cont

there is the link for cortez admiting to never telling them to fight
