Where IS Donaire fighting right now? 118?

If he were able to climb up and carry the weight effectively, he'd beat Juanma and probably have a good scrap with Gamboa.

On the other hand, I don't know where all this "Donaire moving up 2-3 weight classes and beating featherweights" started...

He is clearly one of THE fighters to watch, has good technique, good speed, crushing power, and hasn't been in a competitive fight for some time now. But having said that, he can't just move all the way up to 126-130 and expect to do the same as he has at bantamweight. If he does, then by golly...we've got ourselves another phenomenal fighter in the making...

I agree here - not every fighter can get through weight classes and take almost everything with them like Pacquiao - so just wait and see how he does at 122 - JuanMa struggles with 126 so they would have to wait at 130 - weight classes are there for a reason...

Still would like to see JuanMa against Gamboa - I actually because of style give JuanMa a good shot against Gamboa... it would be an interesting fight - still better then both of these guys fighting de la Ponce's of the world...

Arum put out the word that Donaire was going to move up and possibly fight Gamboa in 2012. I imagine that Arum meant at 126, but Yuri announced before the Ponce De Leon fight that it would be his last at the featherweight limit. It was implied that Nonito would move straight up from 118 to 126, but it looks like "The Filipino Flash" is indeed going to make a stop at 122.

Fighters like Pacquiao are extremely rare, that's why they create such buzz when they appear. Is Donaire another Pacquiao? The odds say no. The question isn't whether Nonito will have success one or two weight classes above 118. He probably will. The real question is, what's his ceiling?

And I agree about Lopez-Gamboa; I would love to see it...if JuanMa gets past Salido. If Lopez loses again, his career is on the skids; the interest will evaporate.

Juanma by ko! He wasn't himself when he fought salido, evident before the fight even started..If he trains like he's supposed to and incorporates a better diet and nutrition then he won't feel so drained and he'll be able to take anybody in his weight class with his speed, power, and skills.

Lopez should try to fight Donaire or Gamboa after winning a meaningless title at 126 or 130; just forget about a Salido rematch for now. He's tailor made for Salido and will take another setback against him, so he might as well suffer it against a P4P player.

He wasnt himself when Mtagwa exposed him for the flawed fighter he is.Compare him to Cotto...Cotto fought hard opposition and looked vulnerable but took the big and dangerous fights. Juanma avoided Gamboa the biggest fight he could have and the most dangerous and fought Ponce de Leon. So out of the two who has the most balls and takes the most risk.
