I think Barrera,Morales, and Marquez are all great but in IMHO Marquez is greater than both of them by a bit, not by much but to me he is the better boxer and I can see why they avoided him early in their careers.

I agree with Jro that Barrera was great but I dont know how great he considers him to be so I cant really answer that.

The way you worded the question leads me to believe that he has him ranked in the top 50 ATG's list or something and while I dont believe that, I still have Barrera somewhere around the top 100 ATG's.

P.S. Not responding to your so called facts, that are supposed to support your opinion (not fact) that Barrera isn't great, doesn't mean that anybody is ducking a really good argument.

It means not dignifying a really bad viewpoint with a serious response and giving it credence. Thread topic over, unless you want some help working on the length of your posts & grammar.

        .

I said Marquez was greater and better than Barrera. Specially when Marquez was in his prime. Apperantly some posters in the History section disagree.

I'm admittedly biased towards Marquez since he's my all time favorite boxer.

People will always disagree, but hey thats boxing. Saying Marquez is a greater boxer than Barrera or Morales isnt blasphemy, its just a difference of opinion on something that is pretty close either way.

Its not like some of these idiots on here saying that Floyd or Pac are greater than Robinson, Leonard, Duran, etc etc.

Im with you on that one, Maniac. Marquez in his prime would have beaten both of them in great great fights.

          Just my opinion though!

of the 3 great mexicans that followed jcc i would say morales is the best, marquez is the most skilled but my favorite is barerra. he was the epitome of a i dont give a **** fighter. its funny how ppl think floyd is dirty because of what he did. barerra made it a point to do something dirty in most of his fights. thats his style. i enjoyed watching his fights even to this day.

            oh yea, btw, bull**** thread

I think Morales might actually be the greatest out of the 3, but I do agree JMM is the most skilled.

I was just talking about how Barrera was a dirty fighter.... yet a lot of people liked him for being a bad ass. While Floyd gets crucified..

First, I don't know who has been lying to you and telling you that you are particularly articulate. I find it funny that you label Barrera's career "good", but in the very next couple of words call it "great". Which is it, Mr Articulate?

What are you basing Barrera's so-called "greatness" on? Where's the evidence? Is it because you say so? Or because you're nuthugging some other poster or boxing writer?

Like I said, you're a hype whore. You can't cite any evidence to demonstrate what Barrera has done that could be considered great outside of your own opinion? How much more pretentious can you be?

Now everybody else, prove to me I'm wrong. That's basically the synopsis of your rambling. It's not up to me to refute a really bad post, it's up to you to convince everybody else that what you're saying is correct. Especially if your opinion is not shared by anybody else. That's how debating works, you ignoramus.
How articulate! You sound even more idiotic than before! I didn't think that was possible. Even now you are ducking and dodging and presenting opinions in place of fact because YOU ARE WEAK. Weak minded, weak character and quite frankly a weak poster.

I wrote FACTS about Barrera. You have deliberately omitted FACTS from your reply. What does that tell the forum? Its tells them that you know the facts DO NOT support your stance, and so you fall back to your default position of a vaudeville clown who goes along with whatever the message the hype machine delivers.

Learn to think for yourself, man. I don't have to embarrass you. You do a fine job of it yourself when citing your own opinion as "good enough" in a debate. You think way too much of your own opinions.

Leaving you knocked out in a back alley so that homeless men can use you for **** target practice probably doesn't appeal to you right now, but all they'd have to do is tell you that everybody thinks that what they're about to do to you is "GREAT" ... and you'd be more than willing to go along with it, you simple minded mother fcuker.

When you're tired of following jrosales13's asss around like a lemming, wash your face, come back and debate like a man.

I love the fact that we can bring up all three and discuss/debate which one was the greatest. That lets you know how great all three of them are when you can make a point either way.

To me its Marquez, to Jro probably Barrera, to You and Maniac Morales. Theres nothing wrong with that at all, thats boxing. I enjoy watching all three of them fight. I just wish that all three of them and Pac had been fighting each other multiple times when they were all in their primes and that they were the same age. Talk about great fights!
