Barrera, like Duckiao, will never be as great as Mayweather.
    Period.

There's a difference between being greater and being more skilled. Unless you're trolling of course, then I just take this post back.

          1. Morales
          2. Barerra
          3. JMM.

That's the level of greatness I have the Mexican Musketeers in. If you look at resume and accomplishments. JMM falls short of his counterparts. Now he might be the most skilled. But, even that is arguable.

I am not questioning Barrera's greatness, and who is great and not skilled, and who is skilled that will never be great? Amuse me

Hmmmm I dunno I don't think I'd find it that hard to argue for JMM being greater than Barrera, Barrera certainly has the more damaging losses. I guess a lot of it depends on how you view the Pacquiao fights with JMM, personally I thought JMM won both, and I'm pretty sure you think the opposite. I'd probably rate Barrera just a notch above but I might feel different in a few years (hopefully both are retired by then). I could never rank JMM above Morales and that has nothing to do with his recent 'great' win against Cano

Joan Guzman was a skilled fighter that would never be great...There has been skilled fighter that for someone reason or another never filled their potential.

To be great you would have to be skilled. Even if it's not textbook skills, or defensive minded, or flashiness. There still has to be some kind of skills to accomplish and have the resume of an ATG. I will always argue that JCC was not only greater than Oscar. But, was also more skilled. However, Oscar was flashier.

However, fighter A can be more skilled than fighter B. But, fighter B is greater than fighter A. Because, fighter B has the better resume and accomplishments.

****** thread. Ofcourse Barrera is great. He has a career spanning 4 decades in 9 different weight classes. Winning his first fight in 1989 and his latest in 2011 from light fly - welter. Theres only a handful of fighters in history that can come close to that. He is above Morales and Marquez IMO as he took fighters zeros ( Hamed and Morales ). He didnt cherry pick washed up leftovers like the two divas at the top of the sport now.
