Oh Ortiz stop just stop Pauly was right Ortiz made it into a street fight he should have kept it into a street fight. And bam bam Rios said that Ortiz got frustrated because he couldn't hit Mayweather clean so he head butted him. Ortiz got what he deserves you let everybody down who knows you and you smiling after the fight put the icing on the night. Ortiz ran into an elbow when Floyd was on a defensive posture in the beggining of round 4. I did not see the usual Floyd's elbows. I did see Ortiz trying to elbow not only ramming it but swinging it to the side in the inside.

If he really was upset cause he got elbowed he wouldn't had been apologizing so much.

sounds like you ve had the misfortune of getting roughed up in sparring. but since you see what a million of us can't please point out the exact moment in the fight (round/time) so i can go look at the replay right now.

and based on the dozen of Floyd fights we have all witnessed, it's not a bad assumption to think it was only going to get worse for Victor, but im with you there, because anything is possible.

Ortizs strategy was to increase his work rate by midnight so he was more active
At the second half of the fight for two reasons.
One. Activity can win rounds

And two Floyd is ten years older coming off yet another layoff


I wasn't impressed with Floyd. I expected him to shine.

Ortizs strategy was to catch him going back with combinations

like he did Before the lunging head butt.


Ortizs shot was never to out box Floyd or land cleaner

It was to rough him up use his strength and size along with catching Floyd

and hopefully taking advantage.

Welterweight contender Victor Ortiz is claiming that referee Joe Cortez did nothing to prevent Floyd Mayweather Jr. from using his elbows in last Saturday's fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Ortiz claims the elbows by Mayweather, and Cortez not issuing any warnings, led to his intentional headbutt in the fourth round. Ortiz lost a point and gave Mayweather a hug to apologize. As he was moving away from the hug, with his hands down, Mayweather landed two punches which knocked Ortiz out. Ortiz is claiming Cortez never advised him to resume fighting.

His hands weren't actually "down" they were still outstretched at around elbow height.

they talked about it all before the fight so he knows thats the excuse he can use to fall back on. Even the most die hard Floyd fans know that Floyd can use those bows but he really didnt do that at all in this fight, except to block punches so Ortiz can give that one a rest and just accept his fate. He's also trying to be slick and say his right eyebrow because he knows thats where it was black & swollen but really it was from that straight right all night. Stop making excuses Victor

First he said that ya it looked intentional but sweared up and down that it really wasn't, i knew that was a bunch of BS. The punches by Floyd were still classless yes, but Ortiz took the fight to the streets and there isn't any rules on the streets, granted there are rules in boxing, but Floyd's actions were within those aswell. That pretty much sums it up.
