I have the fight on my HDD - both HBO and the Prime Time broadcast. I've seen that particular clip a handful of times now. It's quite clear: He says "Let's go" and waves them in.

Ortiz saw it, Mayweather saw it.

At the end of the day, Ortiz ruined a great fight which Floyd was winning, and Cortez didn't handle the situation properly.

its legal punch bros, unsportmanlike and classless but still LEGAL, people should blame Ortiz more for not defending himself and having an eggshell of a chin...

similar shots made by floyd against Mosley and Gatti were both non issue...

In the end, Cortez fked up, Ortiz fked up and yes Floyd fked up.
Cortez was high, Ortiz was high, Floyd was high.
Dumb ref, headbutt, guard down, "legal" sucker punch. Who would have thought you could have
        legal and sucker punch together.

Too bad Floyd was going to school him anyway it's just too bad we never got our Money's worth although the Larry interview kind of makes up for it.

Well, lets just move on. If Ortiz wants to file a protest, then he can. If he doesn't then he obviously feels like he deserved to lose like that. If I were him I'd probably file a protest but then again I don't think I'd be dumb enough not to protect myself at all times. So, Ortiz is also to blame.

The title of the article is just plain false and are putting words in his mouth.

Cortez is still claiming that he gave the instruction to box, which we can all see he did, because it's captured on video clear as day.

What he's saying is that he never actually said the words "box" or "fight" which isn't necessarily required, but he still very clearly gave the command.

No matter what people say, Cortes did tell the fighters to resume fighting. But he was still dead wrong for taking attention from the fighters to deal with time keeping. Your supposed to look at the time keeper 1st signal time in then resume combat. That way your attention is on the fighters.

He must be lying. *****s have said that it was obvious what he said this entire week. They'd never lie.

Yes he did instruct with a gesture but for a fight of this magnitude what a big fk up Cortez did, even my previous posts before the fight I and quite a few others picked Cortez to fk up.

Plus Cortez did it all wrong, it was sloppy, unorganised just a mess of what could have been an entertaining clinic.
