Floyd sucker punched Ortiz during this time.

    Should be a no contest.

Quit a few professional boxers think otherwise and the entire boxing community thinks otherwise.

Also, one judge had Ortiz winning the first, all three has him losing every round after. Compu-Box reflects this btw. This is known, so I don't understand how YOU keep saying Ortiz won the second and was winning or coming on strong in the 4th. Ortiz couldn't even land more than single digit punches and was frustrated about it, hence the head butts.

Again, your spitting the same biased BS over and over and over and over. Floyd is the last person to be crying about. Floyd did what boxers do, what greats before him have done and more importantly what Floyd has done in the past (ex. Mosley round 8).

You're just mad like all the pacterds are... the rest of the boxing community has moved on. Nothing will change no matter how much crying you do on here about what it should be, or what so and so should have done.. You biased "fans" are wrong, get over it.

wHILE i agree with most of what you said & you were spot on... on Ortiz'S actions leading up to the fight's end...it wasn't UP TO FLOYD TO TAKE THE LAW INTO HIS OWN HANDS like a vigilante would do & claim he was defending a previous action that occurred before... that was already made light of immediately by the official ref & penalized accordingly... The crime ORTIZ committed was getting addressed... floyd could've retaliated in any other way.... a low blow.. a headbutt or by going to knock him the **** out when he had his hands up... as that's what most fighters would've done to exact revenge......

FLOYD EXACTED REVENGE IN THE MOST COWARDLY WAY IMAGINEABLE..... YOU CAN SAY THEY BOTH WERE LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT IN THE FIGHT WITH THE ACTIONS THEY TOOK.........ONLY THING IS MONEY'S WAY WAS MORE EFFECTIVE..... MAke no mistake .. ortiz might've been looking for a way out of the fight but it was MONEY WHO ULTIMATELY FOUND A MORE EFFECTIVE TO GET OUT OF THE FIGHT..... HE DID NOT WANT THIS FIGHT TO CONTINUE EITHER BECAUSE OF HOW IT WAS SHAPING UP TO BE... A ROUGH FIGHT & I'M NOT JUST TALKING THE ILLEGAL HBUTT... HE FELT SOME OF THOSE VICIOUS COMBINATIONS before the headbutt & while most of them did miss.. there was one or 2 hard shots that did land...

Mayweather got scared & what does a scared fighter do.. he finds a way out of the fight... Tyson was scared also when he started chewing on Holy's ears because of how rough it was getting & found a way to get out of the fight by still keeping his FIGHTING mentality.... afterall he took it to the streets... no one could call him a coward as Mike still wanted to fight to the very end... he just wanted to fight dirty so he could still keep his image intact of being bad... instead of the inevitable fate of suffering another humiliating KO to Holyfield... it's saving face but still quitting... only you get to say i didn't quit or get knocked out... i took it to him. Money did the same exact thing.... the KO covers the fact he wanted out of that fight at that point.. was getting overly concerned with Ortiz' z crazy antics & roughhouse antics & then all the apologies was making it seem to Floyd that this guy really muct be out of his ****ing mind......

Floyd DID NOT WANT TO FIND OUT... what Ortiz was capable of.. & if you take into account no OFFICIAL TIME relapsed from the headbutt to the cowardly punches.... it supports this... it may look like he wanted to fight with his hands up... just like when tYSON motioned Holy TO COME TO HIM AFTER he bit his ear... HE didn't want any more.... they probably both wanted to quit.. Ortiz, because he was out of his league (& the nonstop aplogies because he knew he wasn't on floyd's level & needed his approval to continue fighting again) & Floyd because it was getting physical.. dirty & the fact he thought Ortiz was crazy & that anything can happen.. He found a way to save face.... hid under the fact everyone would acknowledge those punches were legit under boxing rules & the MOST important fact it WAS in retalliation for what was done to him....

I guarantee you..... Floyd is NOT as smart as he looks... he threw those punches to FOUL Ortiz BACK.. he knew there'd be a chance he could get disqualified.. he took that chance... he's looking like Money now because of the boxing rules allowing that cheap suckerpunch on a defenseless Ortiz.. but let's stop pretending he was 100% sure those punches would be deemed legit.... it was spur of the moment.. what he was 100% sure about was that he was getting Ortiz BACK & THAT ORTIZ WOULD'N'T BE DEFENDING HIMSELF WHEN THE PUNCHES WERE THROWN...... fIRST PUNCH.. i believe was all he was going to throw as he probably thought Ortiz would defend himself after that.. when he saw that Ortiz was looking to complain to the ref is when he loaded up on the free knockout punch.

        • The dumb referree shouldnt be an issue now because we all know Cortez is past prime.

What continues to be the issue and it might drag for many years to come is that how do you weigh a legitimate suckerpunch to justify a title win.

I dont see any good on people praising Floyd for being "smart" when he had Ortiz at the palm of his hand. Floyd even told in the press conference that Ortiz was ready to go anytime. Why bother to sucker punch when you can easily coast to a victory. Unless he's afraid Ortiz might have a puncher's chance, we'll he's contradicting himself.

It may be Floyd's way of preserving his 0 and his "legacy: but that move had just made his fanbase even more lighter.

          • I say who cares let them have a rematch..make it a better fight. Let them both get a good paycheck. A Rematch should be a lot more entertaining than the first fight.

Plus i wasnt disappointment because although it promised to be a decent fight if Ortiz kept applying pressure, he was losing, frustrated, and we have seen it all before.
Floyds fights against SSM and JMM were boring, and this controversial bizarre and i found the KO and the Larry interview very entertaining.
It was a one off incident, and these strange things are what add to the unique unpredictable nature of the sport.

Just my opinion. I can understand why most people felt really disappointed by the ending.
I agree on your opinion. The problem is, people where hoping to see Floyd in a lot of trouble. They had hoped to see Ortiz pressure him and have success. They had an agenda and when Floyd KO'ed Ortiz early, that agenda was ruined. Ironically, these same people who are angry about it said Floyd would win and that he had cherry picked this kid etc.. so if that is how they truly feel they really wouldn't care as it was supposed to happen anyway according to the pre-fight rants about "cherry picking" a quitter etc...

Some go as far to say Ortiz was winning rounds and had success. That is described as being completely biased and very delusional. Team Ortiz didn't even put up a fight to change the outcome.

At the end of the day the entire boxing community backs Floyd yet we still have the biased "fans" that hate Floyd and cry about the outcome. But I respect that you "hate" Floyd yet still accept (like everyone else) the outcome. It was entertaining and like Bob Arum says about Pac fights, its all about Entertainment and that people don't go to his fights expecting the other guy to win but to see Pac beat up a fighter. The fight was entertaining that COULD have been a little longer, but not much the way it was going. A complete and VERY extremely dominate performance by Floyd.

I will say, no more Cortez in the ring, and no more drunk Larry interviewing Floyd. That's all I ask.

DumbA$$$ is trying to save face as because of his actions & not being prepared to referee after the deduction cost a fighter to be ko'ed senselessly. Both Ortiz & the ref weren't prepared for time to officially start again... you had 2 fighters who wanted to quit & using differing tactics to get the job done & an oldtimer' ref that's older than Larry Merchant not taking charge of the ring.. What irks me is you just got ktfo in a dirty fashion & you're smiling afterwards & it seems you're not even doing so because you're embarassed of the outcome... probably nervous laughter just like at the weighin when Flod had him by the throat... whatever happened to real emotions after a bout like Areolla for instance.. keeping it real by crying of embarassment & shame after tasting Klitschko supremacy.

                  • this shouldn't even be a question if he did or didnt'....he clearly didn't say anything, every thing happened very fast, cortez was about to call time in when bam, suckerpunch,i guess it's his wanna be thug mentality, maybe a little of his crack father got in him, maybe he was thinking of how manny is follwed everywhere and he isn't,not even in this fight, maybe it all got to him in that moment and he just went all crazy

                    • I didn't see any gesture for them to keep fighting. And now he says he doesn't need to tell them to fight. Is this dude serious?

Cortez should've immediately disqualified Floyd after the sucker punch.
