Money (not floyd mayweather), was the reasoning for the outcome of the fight last night. Anybody that knows **** about boxing, shame on ortiz for taking his offer, I watched the fight and ko over and over and over again, and all those variables lead me to think it was staged for the pacquiao fight. Not a legitimate win.

pac is already tring to line up a fight with his next foe one that fits pacs vision of what the opposition should be. a trilogy with eric morales. this fight should never happen but pacs fans will swear eric has the ability to ko martinez. LOL for once pac should have to fight some real composition.

Floyd look great from the opening bell. Ortiz had very little success even in the fourth round most of his shots were glancing blows, not clean. Ortiz was never in that fight. Once you decide to fight dirty you can't expect to hug and its all better. You gotta expect some payback. Did Floyd cheap shot Ortiz? Absolutely. Was it deserved? Absolutely. Was it illegal? No it wasn't. Its a pity the fight ended that way but Floyd shouldn't get the hate he is receiving for it.

If it was the other way around and Floyd got KO'd by that headbutt none of you haters would be complaining. The double standards that goes on, on this site is a joke.

Anybody who says Floyd "cheated" shouldn't watch boxing because you are an idiot. Floyd did nothing wrong. If Ortiz has his hands down when Cortez says time in ( which he did..watch and listen to replay) then that's ortizs' problem. A mistake which I'm sure he won't make again. As for mayweather "cherry picking" do u mean like the way pacman isn't fighting a much past his prime JMM? Call me crazy but Ortiz seems the more worthy opponent. And ducking u say? Ducking who? What Floyd did was legal, but bush league. It had no class, no honor. I don't remember a single so-called "all-time great" every resorting to such a classless act to win a fight. And, this isn't the first time Floyd has done this. He did the exact same thing to Arturo Gatti. Why do you do something so bush against guys that are there to be hit anyway? Not like either Gatti or Ortiz was slipping any of Floyd's straight rights, now were they. An all-time great doesn't need to resort to such low brow antics in a fight (especially one he is winning going away).

Let's be clear here: what Ortiz did was inexcusable. But everybody knew that Ortiz's mental strength was deficient. Maidana any one? But he missed Floyd with the intentional butt. And retaliation is only appropriate in well-defined circumstances (like when injury actually occurs, or when the ref continues to ignore the insult).

Could you imagine if Ali had knocked out Frazier by hitting him in such circumstances? How about Sugar Ray Robinson doing it to Jake LaMotta? They'd have forever tarnished those fights. And for what? To get a cheap knockout?

This is boxing, not WWF. Where are the boxing greats of the past to speak out against this type of bush league antic and teach the younger guys respect for the game--because this disrespects the game.

Maybe .Cortez moved his lips, but I didn't see it. What I saw was that Ortiz clasped Mayweather in a hug, and was in the process of stepping back minimum obe pace (but in reality usually 3-4 paces) before resuming fighting . His arms were still extended and he was moving backwards.

Mayweather struck cowardly blows and I belive the fight should have been ruled an NC at very least. At worst Mayweather should have been DQ.

It always takes Cortez to foul up a fight. Obviously Merchant felt that the last punches were foul, and Mayweather had "flown" very close to the rules at least.
Mayweather doesn't like criticism.

A poor fight. Those who paid their $60 plus tax didn't get qnywhere near value for money. I saw it free.

Floyd Gayweather is the face of boxing. And this is what you get after paying $70 for an HD PPV. A dirty, cheap knock out. PBF, the face of boxing, doing cheap shots at his opponent, coming in overweight at the scales. He is the face of boxing. And what a ****ty face that is. Dirty, ugly, classless, ******. Mayweather has shown me that first, he is NOT the greatest of all time. ORTIZ didn't do what I said as far as pressure but when he did he was getting to Jr. JR. didn't like it.

ALL JR had was a fast right hand that wasn't hurting ORTIZ. JR had the advantage of experience, when he walked him back he was winning when he went to the ropes he was the dope cause his ****** shoulder roll wasn't working.

ORTIZ is too good of a guy, he should have just took his deduction and continued to fight. HE was wrong to use his head BUT:

Nothing special about him. I believe giving more rounds ORTIZ would have dumped him on his A$$. The fight was just starting. IT was ORTIZ's fault to have headbutted but BLAME must go to the REF.
