The Floyd wannabe shoulder roll that Alvarez was doing made this entertaining as hell. But yeah, if a fighter can blatantly carry his opponent the way Alvarez was carrying Gomez, he needs to step up in class.

You probably mean underrated... Sorry man, but the dude went pro at 16 years old and has only 5 years of experience in professional boxing: that was enough to get him 3 world title defenses yet... His boxing technique still has many flaws. Alright, that's legal. But let's stop and think, what this guy could be at 30 years old: with like 70 pro fights on his record, who-knows-how many world title defenses... At 21 he's "just" a world champion: at 31 he will be a MASTER. And if he goes on fighting until 40 years of age, he will retire as a LEGEND.

Overrated? You don't know what the word "overrating" means, dude. Dirrell, Berto, David Haye are overrated. A boxer who's got 3 succesful WBC world title defenses at 21 years old will always be UNDERRATED, whatever he does.

Canelo is nothing to brag about. This guy is nothing special man, he had a hard time with a worthless, no skills fighter like Gomez. This kid will continue to fight nobodies just to keep his undefeated record so he will be marketable . If anyone says they were impressed by his performance, then you obviously are a dousche bag cause this guy sucks.

I am surprised by your grammar error here: you start with "If anyone says..." and end with "...You are a douchebag." You should have said he is a douchebag. 3rd person, you know? So wether you can't speak english very well, or you insulted me with no plausible reason. I prefer to believe the first one.

I know that Alvarez is fighting mediocre guys, but that can be because he's too young to face the Pacquiao's and Mayweather's.
Alvarez belongs to the next generation of superstars. He is now settling for greatness, but he still has not reached it. It will be ****** for his managres to throw him in the ring and let him be ****d by Miguel Cotto or Floyd jr or Pac... Boxing is not a sadistic show, dude: it's a sport. The rules say "protect yourself at all times", which includes not to face opponents that are too much above your level.
Challenging opponents who are out of your reach is not a sign of courage, it's just a sign of ******ity.

lol....sorry guys but Canelo is nothing special. He got power but that's it, and we can even debate on the power cause he's fighting smaller guys with no pop.

He's still pretty young, just 21 yrs, but imho any of the top 154 will beat him and do it convincingly. I'll like to see him fight Chavez Jr still, they're more or less on the same level.

To all the people claiming Canelo was just toying with Gomez, I thought that too during the fight but realized that he wasn't. Alvarez was seriously having a hard time with Gomez, you could see it in the face of Alvarez. Even the crowd was getting a bit restless with his lack of work. Props to Gomez for actually being totally competitive, too bad the ref ruined that.

Ooh leave Yuri Foreman alone! That poor guy needs a tune up in the worst way, assuming he doesn't retire. I haven't heard such talk of feeding a young ***ish man to the lions since Daniel!

The fight looked like a regular sparring session before the stoppage.
