Why do people say Floyds feather fisted?

I know he's had some hand issues & he's not some brutal one punch knockout artist but the guys certainly not feather fisted. He's got more than enough pop to command respect.

In fact a 60%+ K.O ratio against the opposition he's faced isn't that bad at all.

Tbh anybody that has boxed before will tell you how much those sort of shots hurt. Nothing is as bad as an accurate, stinging, spiteful puncher that can hit you in the blink of an eye with 3-4 crisp shots from angles you didn't know existed. - Imo they are the worst shots because you instantly feel them unlike the thudding/thumping type of shots.

The funny thing is even if he knocked Ortiz out cold most of you would only say Ortiz was chinny, a quitter & not give him any respect.

    Haters gonna hate!

Yeah thats exactly what people say and your right thats exactly what people will say if Mayweather knocks out Ortiz. Its so spot on in fact that its strange that you felt compelled to even make this thread.

Anyone who doesn't have bone crushing knockout power is called feather fisted. Floyd falls under the category of a guy with decent power who never goes all out for the knockout.

Big difference between decent to good power and feather fisted. Floyd has decent power.

Wifebeater's left hook is defnitely not made of feather. But, after the left-hook the rest of his punches doesn't really seem like bone-crunchers, it's his timing and accuracy that makes a world of difference and makes the rest of his punches seem harder than they really are.

At the lower weights he let his hands go more. I think it's more a case of fighting more cautious at 147 rather than a lack of power. Obviously he doesn't have that raw one punch power but his punches are so accurate it doesn't really matter.
