I see Floyd Mayweather has his personal referee, Joe Cortez, working the fight on Saturday.

I remember Cortez was very unfair to Ricky Hatton. He deducted a point from Ricky for nothing, he prevented the shorter-armed Hatton from fighting in close, and he allowed Mayweather to use his elbows on Ricky's face.

So it looks like Victor Ortiz will have the disadvantage of having a second man against him in the ring.

Cortez is a bad ref. Hes ****ed up a number of times, and loves to be overly involved in fights. I wish Steve Smoger the referee for this fight.

Bad news for Ortiz! Floyd just hired someone to allow his dirty tricks against Ortiz. History showed he didn't allow Hatton to use his tricks against Floyd but allowed Floyd to do his dirty tricks against Hatton.

I hate cortez, he's a crap ref. Not only did he not let hatton fight inside, he didn't let hopkins fight inside against calzaghe either (UK boxing fans you can't have it both ways, remember that).

With that said, I don't know if he'll be a huge factor in this fight because Ortiz isn't really an inside fighter. He likes to get his shots off from a bit of a distance. He also lunges and jumps in a lot to get his shots off.

Now of course, that isn't to say Cortez won't do something completely ****** at some point in the fight, because usually he does.
