I hate cortez, he's a crap ref. Not only did he not let hatton wrestle inside, he didn't let hopkins fight inside against calzaghe either (UK boxing fans you can't have it both ways, remember that).

With that said, I don't know if he'll be a huge factor in this fight because Ortiz isn't really an inside fighter. He likes to get his shots off from a bit of a distance. He also lunges and jumps in a lot to get his shots off.

Now of course, that isn't to say Cortez won't do something completely ****** at some point in the fight, because usually he does.

Cortez ruined the Hatton fight.

Im not saying Hatton wouldve won, But the whole demeanor of Hatton would be different with a fair ref and he probably wouldnt have gotten Ko'd and lost his confidence forever.

The best ref is the guy you dont notice or never mention. Boxing needs to do away with superstar officials.

He will turn a blind eye to Floyds fouls and pull Ortiz up if he so much as touches Floyd.
