He was never hungry, never lacked for anything. I can see with his crazy father, why he might be a bit mentally unhinged. he never really had a childhood, and it ****ed him up, ala michael jackson. But even in his 30's, his behavior is that of a child. he's pedaling a lie, hence his insecurities. He's a fraud. im not saying that he isnt tough - he is, he gets hit in the face for a living - but he's not from the ******. He surrounds himself with people from harsher upbringings - but that doesnt make him ******.

When i look at Floyd, i cringe.

    That is all.
The bold has to be about outside of the ring, clearly. Because inside the ring Pacman is a bigger cherrypicker than the cherrypicking Floyd. When I enjoy good boxing, it's what happens inside the ring that matters. But yes Floyd is an arrogant little a$$wipe though.

ok, so the overt ******isms of the money may persona are a little forced and overplayed at times.

but floyd's only prospects were boxing. he had the pressure of trying to make enough money to give his family (his mum, his dad, his unborn kids) a secure future when he started out, just like any other fighter.

if your mother is abusing class A's and your father was living outside the law and you had to find solace at your grandmother's because neither parent was fit, you've lived a harder than average youth.

this thread is out of its gourd, honestly.

true, but thats my whole point, he never lacked for anything but associates himself with that ****** persona due to his ****ed up family, but i think he thinks he's not accepted, as the saying goes you can tell by the attitude and the company you keep. He's trying to hard, he knows he hasnt lived in the poorer areas, even if his family have. his life is abit of a contradiction, hence his ****ed up persona

          numerous examples

he is constantly accusing people of being 'gay' or '******s', it appears as if he protests too much

he is constantly throwing money around, his nickname is 'money', he likes people to think he was once poor, again, its a form of protesting too much

he wants to be liked, loved even, he calls himself the greatest of all time but his resume is nowhere near, he said he doesnt listen to the critics but why does he always address them in his interviews? I gaurantee he 'googles' himself and reads perhaps even these forums
          Is that insecurity or branding?
How many times has he said this is just a persona?
Do you know what a persona is?

he's questioning other mens sexual orentation and you think that im branding?

even if said fighters where, what difference does it make to floyd?

            is that not insecurity?

even if it all is for show, as you say, where does the show end? why is he assualting people outside of the ring?
            he's turning into donnie brasco.

please stop seeing things through your floyd-tinted specs

well, the persona is something i don't take it seriously because it's just a bit of drama to sell things.

he lacked for a stable homelife with his parents and i doubt there was a ton of money flowing around. his only career options appear to have been boxing, which isn't a scenario we associate with the wealthy. maybe he got the things a kid needs at his grandmother's, but 'upper middle class', 'rich kid', that's all a bit strong.

Are you qualified to say the things you are saying? who gave you the right?

                Oh well it's the internet.

You know what? I agree with you. I mean boxing is not the first choice of an upper middle class rich kid, he has to have some fall back like education. Wish I could give you a green K.

people are very sensitive when it comes to floyd mayweather

brilliant boxer, he does do charitable work, but he probably damages just as many with his lifestyle. people want to look up to him, and he portrays a certain image. look at floyd from the beginning of his carear - a complete sea-change

look at guys like ardien broner, gary russell junior, they idolise floyd, he should be setting an example, and speak the truth

                      andre ward is an example
