I haven't rated him too high as a prospect ever since the kid got outboxed from lateral movement and counter punching from an opponent with like a 9-7 record. He had to wait until the guy slowed down to get his offense going.

Not sure how the fight would go, but Gamboa would win...
      I know, almost overnight

Not sure how people see him beating Gamboa, at all

How is he overrated? Just look at poll that's up, look at how many voted for Gamboa. It's damn near 2-1, exactly how the odds would be if they fought.

I've watched Gamboa get dropped several times, by lesser opposition on ESPN. I've yet to see Mikey get dropped by lesser opposition.

I get why Gamboa moves around and it's not because he's quick, its so that chin won't get tapped, I realize that, I'm surprised you haven't.
I didn't start the disrespect; you did. Your overreaction to my comments tells me that you're much more vested in Mikey Garcia than you're trying to let on. There hadn't been a reply to "your thread" in over twenty-four hours. I made a solid post and you came back into "your thread" with some baseless, ****-talking remark about me "trolling". Who's really wearing bunched-up panties, amigo?

So Gamboa's been dropped a few times. He's never been hurt, and he's always come immediately back to easily beat, if not destroy, his opponents. I do believe a certain ATG by the name of Trinidad and a future ATG by the name of Marquez, among others, displayed the same tendency.

As far as I can tell, most experts, as well as fans, consider Yuri the man to beat at 126. Who claims that about Mikey? Don't tell me you do (although it wouldn't surprise me).

I'm a big fan of Yuriorkis Gamboa. So what? Yuri has a lot of fans, and most of them aren't Cuban. I'm sure if a potential Dominican superstar came on the horizon you'd be jumping for joy (especially since there have never been any). Try to find a thread where I'm putting Gamboa "on a pedestal". I speak the truth to the best of my ability. If I'm slightly exaggerating Yuri's potential, it's understandable. I'm certainly not being a hypocrite.

            EArner and PacandPBFsuck:

I asked because its hard to see Mikey beating a guy he says he isn't ready to fight. SO respectfully, I can't see me picking Mikey to beat a fighter he says he isn't ready to fight yet, even though I like Garcia.

Kellerman suggested in a year Mikey could be ready but not now. I agree with you EArner, Mikey should wait a while.

I think Bob ****ed Gamboa anyway. Gamboa should've knocked Juanma out instead of Salido but Bob was being a greedy b!tch. Serves him well.

Me neither... Must've been the Remillard and Guzman wins.

I didn't go by the poll (even though 42% thinking Mikey would win or that it's too close to call is pretty high for someone who hasn't fought a top 10 contender)... I went by all the first page responses in favor of Garcia.

                This fight won't happen.

But just to humor the thread, I can't see Mikey beating Gamboa because Gamboa is quick on his feet and has too much power for Mikey to fight inside and use his left hook.

Mikey is just as hittable as Gamboa and Yuri would take advantage of it more than Mikey would on Gamboa because of the power, speed, and accuracy.

Personally, I'm not that big on Gamboa but I can't see him loosing this one. I think El Chacal is the better Cuban and I want so see him take on Nonito but doubt he'll ever get the chance.

You act as if Gamboa is lightyears ahead of Mikey, stop it. We all know Gamboa is the top guy at 126, and as the top guy he's gonna get challenged.

Do I believe Mikey can beat Gamboa, he'll yeah, Do I believe Gamboa can beat Mikey of course, but it doesn't matter what you, me or the experts say, nothing matters unless they get in the ring.

I like Garcia, very talented prospect just like Gary Russell Jr who I am also a fan of....BUT who the *** have they fought???

Neither belongs in the ring with Gamboa right now, fight some of his leftovers first to see how they stack up, then after that...MAYBE THEY WILL GET A SHOT! Fight Solis, Solido, JV Barros, Mtagwa, fight and beat a few of those guys first

You don't get a shot JUST BECAUSE...neither have done anything to make them worthy of a match with the Best in the Division, one guy is still only fighting 8 Rounds

would rather see Gamboa fight in a BIG BOUT against either JuanMa if he beats Solido in a rematch or Billy Dib or Chris John

nobody knows Russell Jr or Mikey Garcia besides a few guys on a Boxing Forum

Mikey tries to tangle with Gamboa and gets left in the dust from the blazing speed....if he boxes, he may only lose a decision but if he trades, he is going down.
