Joe Cortez ruined a lot of fights, and Mayweather-Hatton wasn't one of them.

that's why I've never been a fan of rick's as a boxer; why i didn't give two ****s about ruiz.
What Hatton did was perfectly legal according to the Rules of Boxing. It's called "infighting", or "inside fighting".

I don't think Cortez ruined the Mayweather vs Hatton fight. If this was MMA, I can see why someone would say that. But there shouldn't be any wrestling in boxing. If fighters are throwing punches on the inside, that's one thing. But if they're wrestling, then they deserve to be broken up.

That said, I do remember Cortez ruining one fight. I think it was the Soto fight where he disqualified Soto when he was clearly winning and had his opponent ready to go.

its legal depending on who ur favorite fighter is. anyways, i do agree hatton doesnt do anything too illegal. but only reason ppl complain about him not being allowed to hold incessantly is that his opponent is mayweather. usually ppl around here whine and complain about the very same thing.

Joe Cortez should have disqualified Floyd. Its no wonder Cortez is reffing this fight, Mayweather needs him to beat Ortiz.

Cortez ruins every fight he officiates. Guy is an attention whore and tries to make fights about him. Bayless should be the go to guy for major fights. He lets guys handle their business in the ring without trying to make himself the center of attention.
