My good fellow, How many meaningful victories did Tyson have after losing to Danny Williams?

Compare that to Holmes career after Tyson.

Holmes took Mercer's ******ity, who would go on to beat the shit out of a prime Lewis for 10 rounds and got robbed. Who then went on to punch a sex organ in the side of Vitali's face as a fat old man and stop him in less than 7.

Which equals a 43 year old Larry Holmes > prime Vitali Klitschko

For sure, Iron Mike was helluva puncher.

Though, Tyson opponents who've also met Shavers and Foreman say that their punches hurt a lot more.
The devastating effects Tyson's punches had, they refer to his speed. They never saw them coming.

Mercer got robbed against lewis? What planet do you live on he lost damn near every round. Mercer was a ****ing bum.

And LL had to cheat and use the crease on the side of his glove to cut vitali, he knew he was gonna lose.

You're mad whites are taking over boxing racist. If you were a real boxing fan you would not care about race.

For me, prime Holmes was 1978-1983.

He just happeened to meet a prime Tyson in 1988.

So for me the win is ok not earth shattering or great.

I feel like you have to look at when they fought, rather than what box rec says.

For me, his Cooney fight was Holmes masterpiece.

If Mercer's a bum, what does that make Vitali? Mercer did a better job than Vitali on a better version of Lewis, and did it without menstruating all over the place.

That's just one of the examples.
if tyson knocked out holmes and holmes never won again that would be equal to calzaghe beating eubank. if tyson knocked out holmes but holmes had already been knocked out twice that would be equal to calzaghe beating jones. if tyson won a very debatable decision over holmes where holmes landed almost all the clean punches and tyson only won because the crowd cheered loudly for him that would be equal to calzaghe beating hopkins.

the truth is holmes was a top contender for years after that loss and nearly won a belt again with a debatable loss to mcall. eubank and jones were no longer relevant and hopkins beat him unless you ignore the rules of boxing.

Following Holmes throughout his career, I 100% agree.

                      Tyson vs. Holmes

Lets not forget that Holmes took the fight at short notice, even given that Tyson would have won if they were both at their peak age or condition.

Tyson at his peak would have beaten any heavyweight in history other than Ali who would have danced around him and jabbed him to death for 15 rounds.
And please don't mention those big russians, Tyson would have got under their long range jabs and knocked them out with upper cuts, easy, no problem, too quick, too fast, too strong, too skillful, too much class and no steroids either, Mike was all natural power.
