Does Marquez being outboxed by Mayweather really.. (Official Poll)

Prove that he can't fight at Welterweight?

For the most part, 10 out of 10 boxers who fight Mayweather at WW would be convincingly outboxed by him. So with that said, how does being decisioned by Mayweather make him any different from any other welterweights? How can this be the basis to completely dismiss JMM's ability at Ww?

"He didn't look as fast or strong as he usually does against Mayweather"... Could that be b/c Mayweather is soo good that he is faster, stronger and craftier? It's possible Jmm has never looked somewhat out of sorts b/c none of his previous opponents fight Mayweather's unique style or as well as Mayweather does.

"JMM won't be able to take punches at Ww".. He took a flush power punch from Mayweather and got up exactly like he always does! Imo, while I don't expect Jmm to fight at Ww and be better than he normally is. I do not think his abilities diminish quite to the point that a lot of boxing fans might have you believe.

While Pacquiao does fill out better, he's still been a small guy fighting naturally larger guys. And when Pacquiao and JMM stand next to eachother. You're still just left with two small guys who have only their skills and abilities to tell them apart. Imo, Styles will be more the story in this fight than Size. Poll to follow, please discuss!

I've always thought this. I never could completely discount him at WW because he fought Floyd. If he fought ANYBODY else in the top 10 and looked that bad then i'd say wholeheartedly he shouldnt go up that high but since it was only against floyd, i could never 100% write him off.

No, he just lost to the better man, like how he will lose to Manny comes November 12th.

I actually think that JMM outboxes Ortiz and most B-level welters.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm definitely not saying he will certified be as good at Ww as he has been at Lw. However, I do not feel we've seen enough to 100% discount his chances.

floyd took away jmm's bread and butter...his counterpunching. with floyd's size advantage you would think he will at least try to bully jmm but it didn't happen. he let jmm come at him all night. proof that floyd was also wary about jmm's counterpunching skills. jmm would surely have done better against any other opponent not named floyd at ww. that's just style nightmare for him.

He didn't look good physcially to me.

Is that because he fought Mayweather and was hitting air all night? Maybe.

It would be better to see him fight a tune up at 147 first against a solid opponent.

Then would could gauge how good he is physcially at the weight.

As it stands, he didn't look good.

I think Floyd deserves some credit for the win. With that said, I think Pacquiao/JMM should not be dismissed as the result is far from guaranteed.

I think he's too small. With the fighters in the division Floyd is a relatively small welterweight and he looked huge compared to Marquez.
